General Poll 17 or 18"

Hey guys,
I don't know if we have had a poll. But I am curious. What do you think looks better on our cars. 17's or 18's. Myself personally, I thought 18's almost looked ridiculous on our car. It just looked too big, (Focal F5). I am pretty sure I am going to get the 17" Focal F5's.
So what do you guys think, I am curious to find out
Thanks

17'' for me.
18'' are nice but too much money, and 17'' are will give you a bit of an easier ride, and less rim damage if you hit a pothole.

I agree, but...
It depends on where you live in my case. California has the worse roads, and in fact my bro just bent one of the rims AND busted the tire on his GS-R. He's got 17s, but it can be hammered out. I personally wouldn't go over 17s (18s look unreal), but on Cali's, I'd go 16s... by the way... he's gonna sue CalTrans.

damnit f5's are my rims... i personally prefer 18s over 17 on a civic. 17s look a lil small for me. i got quoted 1300 out the door for 18" f5 with falken tires...yes thats 18s not 17s.... now i just gotta save up.

I think I've decided on 17"s. Does anybody know how bigger rims may affect winter driving?

Car companies are now thinkin bigger is better. Its the look for the 21st century. Companies like BMW, are squeezin huge rims in their fenders cause thats what the public wants. Thats just a little side note. Me, i like the way that 18's look, but they are just not for me. Too much tire will slow you down a little too much. Personally im going with the Tenzo R AV7 rims in silver.

18's look tight but as they said before they will slow you down. I like the look but I also want performance so I settled with 17's. I Love them, drive great and preform better than stock. Good Luck.

I run 18 Focal F-10's and I like them. Got them for 1200.00 with a set of Nitto NT450's

I will admit....17's are definately beter if you are going for speed. I just sold my silver 17's to get chrome 18's and I pushed the gas and was like "whoa". Definately slowed me down. But you guys have to agree...our cars arent that fast anyways!!!!!!!!! Im going looks for now till I get done savid for my custom turbo

But I think...

17's for speed (dont get me wrong...they actually dont look that small. I loved mine.)

18's for looks. And if you dont get chrome 18's you should still be ok speed wise. Chrome is SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO heavy!!!!

18 's are nice but when it comes to replacng those tires i know im not goin to have that type of money

definitely 17"s. 18"s cost too much and are too dang big. plus you have to be really careful with them. 18"s would be ok for a show car that is lowered though. that's about it.
