Ahhh...I'll help out the newbie
Basically it's legal...But it all depends on where you live. In California, the vehicle code book states that you must have either a white or amber light emitting for your turn siganls in the front. Where do you live...that info would help us...

Fine here is your answer. In most states it is legal to have a white or amber bulb. But, I was told, that you need to have an orange reflector someone on the front or side of the front bumper. U can keep them cleared just watch for transit po-po if you don't have any orange reflector. If you are worried you can buy a cheap one and stick on your car from Pep Boys.
In New Jersey/New York.... You need the orange/amber color. It doesn't matter if the bulb is amber, or if the reflecter is amber. You need it.
I cleared mine, but placed in orange/amber bulbs. Cops will not really pull you over due to not having the amber up front, but if you get into an accident, watch out. It could be used against you if the other people realize it...
