The dealership tells me I only have 60 days to buy the extended warranty. I live in Kingston, Ontario, is this just in canada or are they giving me a line. Doesn't make sense why they would have such a short period to decide. Haven't seen this in writing anywhere. Anyone know different, thanks.

Sounds about right to me. You can't expect to buy the extended warranty once your car gets close too or out of warranty.
I'll ask my buddy though... he works for London Honda.

You should be able to buy it up until the car goes out of warranty. My brother bought one for his lightning right before it was going to go over 36k. He actually avoided driving it for a few days until he got the extened warranty. Also, you can get a warranty from Warranty Direct anytime.

Thanks guerro. Is warranty direct available in canada and is the extended warranty they sell backed by honda or another party.

I just purchased the extended warranty on my Acura EL, and it was at a little over 58,000 km I doubt the policy is any different, as it's the same company in both circumstances.

No problem, however, I would check around at other dealerships to see what their policy is. Or, better yet, call Honda themselves and see what they have to say. I can't imagine them not allowing you to purchase it with such a new car, if they let me purchase it with less than 2,000 km before the 60,000 km deadline.
