good luck, in all honesty 2k1civics dont do too well at autocross, but the bright side is that its probably the most competitive racing you can do with a stock or nearly stock 7th gen... if you improve your driving skills, you can do fairly well without having to do too much to your car... altogether though you wont see too many g7's, i think theres maybe less than 10 people total on this entire board (possibly the entire net, hehe) who have autocrossed their 7th gen

and the imprezas, hehe... all subarus routinely kick a$$ at autocross, the 2.5RS, the WRX, stock outbacks, modded justy's, etc.

tips: remove spare tire, take out all carpeting/loose stuff, have no more than a 1/4 tank of gas, inflate front tires to 38-40 psi... but most of all have fun, its incredibly fun even though it requires a lot of skill to do well

edit: totally forgot to mention mine hehe, ive done no official competition seasons yet (this march will be my first), and 3 non-competition autox'es, only my first of which was fully sanctioned/regulated, which also had the stiffest competition.. of that race, i probably had the 104th position out of 120th in order of times, again it was my first real time and i consistently improved each run, so i wasnt too disappointed. the other two my competition was so varied and crappy that i dont really consider em real results, but i placed like maybe 20th-30th out of ~50 cars...

Autocrossing is a great sport, I only wish more people would do it. Its a great place for novice drivers to learn car control. I've had alot of people who thought they were 'expirienced or expert' drivers come up to me and say they realized they didn't know as much as they thought they did.

I've been autocrossing for a while now and there's a big thing to remember, dont try to be Micheal Schumacher on your first run. I've seen alot of first time people get disheartened after their first run because it was so horrible. Even the Jeff Gordon's or Mika Hakkinen's of the world hit a cone every now and then.

-1/4 tank of gas or less, but watch for fuel starvation, slinging a car around cones with too little fuel can do this.
-high front tire pressures, and would even raise the rears up some, maybe 34 psi
-taking out everything possible. some places require you to even take out the floor mats, though thats a good practice anyway.
-Adjust the seat so your sitting more upright and closer to the steering wheel.
-make sure your seat belt isn't twisted around any.
-if they offer a novice/first timer walk-through, do it. It will show you alot about the proper racing line to take.
-check all the fluids in your car. we had a person come out one time to autocross, and on one of their runs, the engine seized up cause of low/bad oil. we've also had people have overheating engines cause of low coolant and get bad brake fade cause of bad brake fluid.
-check your tires for nails and rocks.
-make sure your steering wheel isn't slick. I'll have mine shined up for a car show one night, and the next morning be wiping it off completley for an autocross.

-have fun!

Here is ghosty's DIY for removing the rear deck but it shows how to take out the rear seats. It is really easy.
