I'm in the process of trying to get a Charger SRT8 I want to trade my GXP and Dakota R/T.

Jeep/Chrysler is digging themselves in a hole with all this SRT6/8/10/Hemi bullsh*t... Hello tank-gasguzzlers!! Do they not wonder why they're sales are low and the Imports are becoming topsellers?

I love all cars pretty much so I don't diss on them. They all have their good and bad points.

I would say that I am not stuck in the import box. Its just that dodge as a company is horrible from the way they have always made there cars to how they treat there mechanics. In my exp they have either had really good drive train and the car fell apart or the car held together but the drivetrain sucked. For instance the old skool charger they ran greeaat but every time you shut the door some thing fell off(i am not kidding my dad had one). Or my coworker who has a durango 2001 and has had the auto tranny replaced three times with less than 130k on it, not to mention that it has a horrible iihs frontal impact rating.. I would say that dodge has alot to prove in my mind to get them selves out of there past. Now the whole jeep thing is a sore subject. They took a really good 4x4 name and fliped it into junk. My grandpa does the rubicon every year in a cj7 and just shakes his head at the new jeep name. It a far cry from what it used to be and now I would not even call it a 4x4, kinda like the new hummers just glorified chevy trucks/ double the price tag. I think that the chance should be givin but watching the long term would be first and fore most. You just wont see me jumping in line to sacrafice my hard earned money to iron out the kinks of yet another failing american auto company.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

It is only targetting a really little SRT fans, even Chrysler said it. A little bit like the Type-R of Honda, except Type-R is lovedd in Japan, Euro and now start to be known in america. While no place else than america appreciates SRTs.

Just a link for some info...

you all our counting the US brands as being dead all ready but I think its far to early to tell. my reasons are that the japanese don't know how to build good work trucks, which is the number one selling vehicle in the US. the other reason is that GM right now is the leading manufacturer in china, which is the speculated to become the largest auto market in the world withing the next 10-20 years. from what I have read on edmunds.com and autoweek.com it seems that the japanese brands are not having much if any success yet in china do to the chinese still being upset at japan for what they did during WWII.

Car manufacturers have been marketing their cars based on horsepower alone for years, and more horsepower means higher gas consumption, be it by higher displacement engines or forced induction.
A new wave of electric engines is taking over the market. Power will become cheap for both manufacturers and users. We WILL see 500lb/ft electric civics, and that power will be available linearly, alongside 500lb/ft ferraris.
I have no idea how they're going to market their cars then anymore, since power will be common. THen the quality of our assembly lines should exceed that of manual labor significantly. Will the auto industry overcome itself?
