What are you talking about exactly? Do you mean the rubbery piece of black plastic hanging down below the front bumper? That's a front spoiler (sad but true). That thing shouldn't have fallen off by itself. Take your car back to your dealership and have them fix it.
I think they should recall the "spoiler", well if thats what you wanna call it! That black rubber thing is useless any way, all its supposed to do is keep you from getting shocked when you exit your car, but it doesn't work! Oh yeah and I have seen like 4 Civics just this week with the same problem, ya know when I am driving, all of them where just dragin them around on the front of their civics, half on half off! Anyway mine is still on but I have a body kit so you can't see mine anyways! I suggest, and so do others, take it to the dealer and tell them to bolt that thing on!

Are you saying that it's not bolted on at all? It is. I took mine off before my accident and they are four large plates with bolts holding it onto the bumper and two plastic push pins. I think they come off so easily since if you park and your front end goes past the curb it will be grinding against the curb and will give way somewhat. Do that enough times and the plates that hold this thing in place will come loose.
Hmm, I've got to check out what you guys are talking about. I don't think I've noticed this black rubber thing yet.
By the way, I've been a moron a couple of times and gone past the curb when parking and heard the bottom of the bumper grinding. Does anyone know if there are metal parts that will rust down there if I scratch it up enough from pulling in too far when parking?

my friend's fell off once and her boyfriend put it back on for her. I'm not sure what the exact purpose of it is, but mine seems to be on there pretty good so I don't worry about it.
I just went out and looked at my Civic. I see what you're talking about now. I wonder if that was what was producing the grinding noise when I hit the parking space curb.

astr033: The frame is protected by plastic, that front spoiler, and the bumper. I don't think you scratched though that yet. Check under your car to make sure. It's the only way.
