get 2 gauges that just have numbers but dont say anything so you can write "i wish" on one then "i had" on the other.... then buy a boost gauge and align them as so (top) I wish (middle) I had (bottom) Boost lol....something that is true to most of us

Dude, I cannot beleive so many people post such negative remarks. If you are not going to help the guy, dont fvcking post. Such ***-hats. Guages are great for any show car. They can help you monitor engine health precisely and look good. The only instance they would look odd, is if that was your only mod. Dont worry about lame ppl's opinions, I have a trilple pillar pod, and other members do to and they look sweet.

So some guages you could get are:

Air/fuel
Oil temp
Oil Pressure
Water temp
Fuel temp
Fuel Pressure
Fuel level
Boost
Pyrometer
etc...

air/fuel gauge was my biggest mistake. that damn thing never worked (probably installed it wrong, but wtf) and it just blinked bright freakin LEDs all over the place.

i would get oil pressure, egt, voltmeter, or something useful. it's always good to know your oil pressure is solid.

Civic_RedLine will become famous soon enough
blah save ur money, air/fuel is a big waste of money, it is used for show. Now... wideband a/f gauge is different, it monitors real fuel to air ratio unlike narrowband but wideband cost 300+ while the autometer ones cost like 50

hehaeh, amen gearbox. a/f won't help you to modify your driving style, whereas knowledge of trans temp, oil temp, and volts can all save your *** if those indicate a problem before you breakdown (alternator failure, cylinder head poppin, tranny gettin too warm, etc).

a trans gauge (and cooler) should be required at the rate that the auto civics fail. if it gets too hot, just throw in neutral when you're at a light.

why would a a/f sensor screw up if you get a gauge for it?

because the gauge steals some of the voltage and guess what...the ecu uses that precise voltage output to calculate a/f ratio to make your car work.

isn't the only time that the ecu modifies the fuel input is at constant speeds in overdrive, when it only slightly leans the mixture to grab some extra mileage? i think the rom-flashed fuel map applies in all other scenarios...

so how would the voltage affect the A/F ratio dumpin into the intake? i'd assume that you guys are installing a secondary bong fitting for an A/F sensor rather than taking out the o2 sensor already installed. if not, i can see the open-loop system (without o2 sensor working) being a problem...

asian relic has a little shameless behaviour in the past
yeah

If I were you I wouldn't buy anything, especially if you haven't moded your car, yet.

Now, if you were to mod your car later, then cool.

But, if you still want to buy some guages then with your set up you might want a volt meter to see how your batter is and if your alt goes bad, b/c I didn't have one and my alt went bad and I just recharged my battery a couple of times, bought a battery, then decided it was my alt.

Jus' mah 2 cents, but hey it's your car and money...just make sure you enjoy it.

the ecu calculates a/f constantly at -/+ 20% fuel trims when the throttle isn't floored.
