No, the remark was meant to be helpful, more helpful than sticking some superfluous gauges you don't need on a 115HP economy car. If "Show Car" means ricer, then by all means, go for it. I would also suggest a carbon fiber wing, underbody neons, and non-functioning roof scoop--you know, for show. There's no need to monitor engine health, it's a Civic, not a Pinto. The car can manage its own engine health quite fine, else people wouldn't buy Civics to begin with. Monitoring oil temp on a WRC car that gets dirt sprayed all over, and makes 6 ft leaps in the air? Understandable. Gauges on a NA, mostly stock car that's known for good gas mileage and reliability? Unnecesary. I'd prefer people stop using "show" as a euphemism for "rice", because that's what it is. And if it is only for show, I'd save money and just have the gauges not hooked up electronically. Cus believe me, you're never going to use them.
