qusetion bout a DIY CAI

can i just take out my resonator and air filter then hook up a pipe to the hole in the air box where the resonator was hooked up too then put a cone filter at the end of my pipe?? cause i dont wanna mess with drilling a hole in the pipe for the sensor and finding a way to hook up the breather hose. any suggestions?? will my plan work?

the filter is not in the resonator, it's in the other box. that sounded like a good idea at first but you're gonna have to do the whole thing. i'm still workin on my DIY as well. i'm doing a variation of the DIY at jdmfan.com. i'm using the same pipes he used.
EDIT: having re-read what you posted, i guess you could do that. you'll get better flow if you replaced the whole thing

your idea should work. you'll get better airflow if you use a single pipe though
