Scion TC, Mazda 3, or '06 Civic Si?
man why are you guys hating on the Mazda 3? I just got a 06 model and it handles way better than my Civic.
And what's up with saying the Mazda 6 V6 is better than the 3? The mazda 6's have been having way more problems than the 3.
btw, you're comparing apples to oranges if you're comparing a TC or an SI to a Mazda 3.

tC hands down. Horsepower spits...Torque swallows! The 2az in the tC is making crazy numbers with relatively low boost. Got to love the forged crank and iron cylinders. ZPI stage 0 gives you around 230 to the wheels for around 3k. NICE
I'm not sure if you'd want to turbo a car while its still pretty new, it'd do unsavoury things to your warranty. But if you want to talk turbo, 3 is producing some really good numbers 255hp/240tq w. stock exhaust at 7psi, with a very nice dyno curve: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=26644.0

But I chose the EL because of resale, reliability and the name, Acura.
The 3 is more the family car.
TC/SI are gonna be more ur "racer" car.
I would personally go for the new SI, but wait until all the querks have been worked out.
So ask urself what you want, fun driving or family driving.
I wish they offered the TC here..

[QUOTE=jhonsok]mazdaspeed 3 ? really? i only thought they were having a mazdaspeed 6..but w/e.
Allegedly. I read it in Road & Track (I think) several months ago, but they said it was not being developed until the Mazdaspeed 6 was out.

Don't tell my car but I regret getting 1 of the 1st 30 7th gen Civic here in the Twin Cities- I had no idea that the aftermarket was really only going to be cosmetics. My point is that if you want to get th 06 Civic wait to see that it really is what you want and what you want to do with it is possible. I have stopped adding to my Civic because its really hard to make it what I want- waiting for the $$ for my wife and I to get our S2K.

I say SI with navi out of the three choices.
But if your looking for a car in the 16k-23k range i would also look at the WRX TR version, it retails at 23k. You get 4drs, Turbo, and AWD. You lose out on the HIDS, leather and fog lights with the TR version but who cares. Financing for the subaru's tend to be more generous then honda or toyota too.
AWD > FWD

The Si 1/4 did not impress me at all, its what 197hp, and the TC Stock is 160. And the TC was like a few seconds behind on it..
Also The supercharger is out for the TC. And that brings it to 200Hp even
it all depends on what u want in looks'

ya that TC is pretty slick, first one on cardomain, though black is too hard to keep up..

I say you test all of the three, and ask people who have the cars about them. Obviously the Si will be different, since it hasn't even come out, you can ask 8thgen owners...

A bit off topic, but since it was mentioned...
I've been considering trading in the RX-8 for an the new IS. The IS250 is complete garbage. It is so sluggish it's ridiculous. The IS350 is a totally different story though, that's the one I want to go for. Only thing is I can't bring myself to trade the 8 so I may just pay the 8 off in the next few months and just lease the Lexus (it's for work anyway.)
But yeah, since someone brought it up, the IS250 even in manual, is really slow. Looks nice, and you can get alot of nice options, but it's too slow to be considered a serious sporting vehicle.

To get the Si, the Wing would have to come off,(Why is it stock, ew) And a lipkit would need to go on, And Springs, and new rim's Cause im not digging the stock ones,
Thats put u at about 25-26k easy... if not more..
i did that all with my Tc, for 23k.
so its a money thing. Really
add a supercharger to the Tc, its tricked out, and its faster..
and your at the same price...
both are sharp *** car's Each one has pros n cons...
But the Tc was more The style and look i was going for..
good luck shopping

The SI with summer package deal is a really good price, even with the navi its a good price. Its only $1k more then the ex. Where the hell you getting 26k from? Don't shoot out random numbers.

You're gonna get what you pay for. The TC is cheaper and it is the better looking of the three, but as far as it going to be faster than the SI, NOT A CHANCE. Comptech is already in the process of releasing a supercharger for the si in the near future, so that 200hp on a supercharged TC is still not gonna be enough to take out an SI. You really got to way your options out, because the SI is gonna run you a couple of G's more than the price of a TC.
Come on people is straight line performance the decicing factor on a car? How come nobody has talked about suspension design or steering response? Cornering ability? Has it all gone out the window? Maybe you're all better off driving camaros. No really.

And there's multiple turbo's out for the Tc, pushing 300+hp..
