cobra project
This is my dads car. He bought it about a month ago from a guy in TX. This thing is sick. Its a '65 AC Cobra. It got a 289 with dual 4 barrel carbs, roller rocker cams, 5 speed mustang tranny, 8.5 mustang rearend, positive traction, its got it all. There is over 3k in the engine itself. The guy has around 30k in it, and my dad got it for 8k!!!

This is what it will look like when its done. It will either be this blue with white strips, or mustang orange with white strips also.

i know, he got the engine running already. the guy that had it bought the engine, modded it, ran it for 15 min and put the car up since '96. it took my dad like 3 hours to get that thing running, he a mechanic, but that tranny is not hooked up yet. its so light that when you nail it the car just bounces up and down!! its all damn fiberglass

Is that genuine or a replica? Real ones usually cost a lot more than 8k. I am not saying you are a liar, just curious.

paint it orange.
I was going to say, even if it were a real one in crappy condition, as long as the numbers matched the car, it would go well above 15k!
That looks nice though. Back in the day, the origs were slapping Ferrari's and crapping on Porsches.... well, the real Shelby's were anyway.

my dad knows some guy that had one, about this much work done already, adn the guy sold it for 24k. it didnt even have a ford engine in it. i think it had a 305. there are so few original ones thats why they go for so much, but most of the kits are selling for around 30k to 50k.
