Rep Power: 0 I'll be finishing my engineering degree (hopefully) in about 3 and 1/2 years, which is also the time I have left on my financing. So far the civic has filled its purpose, the only complaints being the rather "cheap" stock suspension and lack of a sporty exhaust note, but I reckon they both can be fixed, in time.
I dream about owning all kinds of cars, yet as Scatman wrote, it's financially smarter to stick to a car. If you really think about it, he's right : all the new cars are in fact shiny new, repackaged gimmicks and all cars boil down to the same thing : 4 wheels and a gas tank. There's oh-so-little to differentiate between them.
It's just a few seconds slower than a brand new carrera, and neither can fly their way above traffic. Plus there's the crappy roads that we have here, the speed limits, the fear of leaving your car parked somewhere which aren't relly worth the extra buck.
Either that, or I'm getting cheap.

Rep Power: 0 It'd be sweet to make my current car ('97 Acura EL) really nice, but then again I could get a faster car and make it nice.
As of right now, I barely have any money to do anything to my car, so it all depends how my cash situation is. If I have enough money to buy a faster car (most likely i'll stick with Acura,) then i'll do that. If I don't, i'll probably just keep adding things to my El.

You are exactly right. I average 10 years out of a car, and more. My Nissan truck is 20 years old now. It still runs virtually like the day it was bought. With only regular and normal maintenance. The whole idea behind marketing is to make us get rid of something perfectly good we payed lots of money for, in favor of a newer, more expensive item based on our emotions. And it WORKS!!!
We just want new stuff all the time, and are conditioned every day to "consume" even though we don't need it. I'll likely have my truck another 10 years, (cause I really like it) and my vic until it becomes not cost-effective to keep. In all honesty, Cars are just getting too expensive to replace every few years just because I get a boner looking at next years model.

Rep Power: 0 A new Si or Mustang GT. I'm waiting for the Si to come out so I can drive it and see if I like it better than the Mustang, but if the Si is as good as they say I'll probably go that way because a new 'Stang is like $33,000. nicely equipped and I figure the Si will be $20 to $22,000 equipped like I want. The Si will be about ten grand cheaper than the 'Stang and that's a lot of Pepperonis. Meantinme I cruise in my 06 Civic LX sedan and dig it.

Rep Power: 304 Hmmm...I've pretty much had my fill of sports cars. I think I'm gonna get a hybrid SUV next. I like the RX400h, but I'm reluctant because I think there's going to be a few more choices very soon here.
But, if I could really have my way I'd get the SUV and a Porsche 911 or an Aston Martin DB9...or I could settle for a V8 Vantage...haha
Whatever happens though I will always own a rotary

Rep Power: 310 In 4 years I'm gonna be driving a 5 and a half year old 04 coupe!
It's got ~31,000 miles right now so... let's calculate...
It's gonna have ~120,000 miles and still be rockin!
Local Honda dealer (the one I got my VP from) has the 2006 DX in $21,000...
I bought mine for $16,995! (Ok, it's more than in the States, but they have to ship them here and such... my point is raising the price $4,000? It sucks!)

The last year they made the skyline GTR was 2000, and they were never sold in the USA. you had to import them through 1 of various importing and registering companies.. theres only a handful of them still around, only 1 that i KNOW of, and they will get you a 2000 Skyline GTR Vspec-II for over $100,000. the new GTR (Different from skyline... skyline in the JDM is the G35 here) is this:
That is the prototype nissan has OFFICIALLY RELEASED for the next GTR and there have been many press releases about it. visit www.gtrproto.com for more information.
as far as my next car... either an MKIV TT supra (or a new supra if they come out with the MKV), a mitsu EVO VIII, IX, or X, or a nissan GTR (new one, depending on price)
