I just recently bought an automatic 95 civic 2 door coupe dx. I don’t know much about modifying cars, but I am starting to get very interested in the subject. My car has already been modified some. It has some nice rims and a big air intake, but I’m not sure what else. It still isn’t that fast, but every time I get in the car the gas pedal ends up finding its way to the floor board and I end up maxing the car out at 110 on my way to school in the morning. To sum things up, I have two questions:

1. How does a ‘newbie’ learn how to make his car go faster?
2. Since I have an automatic, what will happen if I try manually shifting gears? I have a floor shifter that is marked 1 2 D3 D4 and the car’s manual says that I can shift threw these like it was a manual, but I don’t want to screw up my car in the process.
3. Any other tips on how to get the most out of a partially modified automatic 95 civic would be appreciated.

(I know that I’ll probably just get yelled at for being a dumb *** noob that should slow down and stop asking dumb questions, but I would at least prefer some constructive criticism.)
