Bad A$$ Prelude

Just took my Civic in this morning for an oil change and the dealer had a 2001 Prelude there fully cranked. It had a Jackson racing supercharger in it, SRI, Headers, Catback, everything. The guy said it put out over 300 HP!!! It was a nice red colour too!! It could have been all mine for the low low price of 38000 Cdn (about 25000 USD)!! Thanks but no thanks. Looked nice though, probably drove nice as well!! Too bad 2001 was the last year for the Prelude, I had always wanted one and had planned on getting one when I could afford it, but not any more I guess!!

i hope they go back closer to the look of the 92-96 preludes, they looked far better than the 97-01 preludes

I have driven a Prelude, it was great, but the body style is so oldish looking now, it really needs an upgrade....

I test drove a Prelude Type SH... one of the last ones. I wish I got a chance to drive it on the freeway, but it was nice. Too big for me. I agree with how the older model looked (I looks like a friggin Integra!)

I HEARD THAT THEY WEREN'T GONNA MAKE ANYMORE, WTF? Is it gonna be under a different name or something? Honda needs a sporty car in their line, and Civic Si doesn't count!

What crack are you on buddy?!?!

Those preludes looked like $hit! I loved the 97-01 Ludes! Thats like saying the Si Hatch looks better than the Si Coupe

The newer Prelude's look was fine to me. I like the older and the newer one. The newer one stood out except it just deserved an interior change but I guess Honda just had to wait until y2k to give us newer, stylish looks... RSX-blessed. Prelude shot down.

I think both 92-96, and 97+ preludes looks good. But the older one has more potential. The stock older predlue are actually faster than the stock newer prelude since the older ones are lighter.

My old car was a 92 prelude SI.....I was planning on getting many more years of driving out of it but I guess going 130 for long periods of time doesn't help. It broke down at 100,000 miles. I can't drive like that anymore, the civic won't let me.

that guy is trying to rip people off. not only can i make a lude way faster then that for the money over MSRP that he wants, a JRSC H22A with I/H/E is only going to be netting you 230-250 WHP depending on the ammount of tuning and A/F crap you have available/installed.

230-240 whp is about tops for a turbocharged Lude running stock internals. Only way you're going to get around 300 hp is to do some serious headwork.

Well I dont mean to offend you man but we have our own taste. I hate the looks of 92-96 Prelude it look like a two door accord. I hate the small headlight. And the interior the gauge all suck look like your inside of a time machine or something. Much like those on Back to the future the movie interior. I love the 97-01 prelude they look classic. The large hood the interior looks good everything I hope I can afford one. But Im still looking foward to buy one even for a second hand

Jackson Racing claims 100hp for their h22 supercharger on a stock engine. Think, "we" get 40% power gains with one, so 100hp would only be 50% power gains on the lude, it isn't that far fetched. Peace

Stock 5th gen Lude puts out 150 whp. 80-100 whp gains from the Jackson supercharger puts a supercharged Lude at around 230-250 whp.

So why are they gonna stop making the ludes and then put them back out on the market after a few years?
