<Type-R engine in a 4 door 7th gen Civic!!>
<< aight why would i lie about the e-mails from hondamotorsonline.com and why would they lie about having one in stock its not good buisness and suposed i had the money to buy it and didnt that would make em look like @#!% so im pretty sure they dont lie about it >>
Okay, sorry for the false assumption but I am just sick of all the talk-talk-talk about engine swaps. It's just getting lame... there... here's a nickle and and penny for my bitchy 6th sense.
i kinda doubt he gotta type r engine casue i had a friend that told me he put a type r engine in his 91 integra, he opened up his hood and i saw it, but later he told me he just bought that red type r engine cover and bolted it on his stock engine, a lot of people do that.
were talking about the K20A here buddy, a jdm 02 Integra Type R engine, not the B18C5.
The b series has a snowballs chance of hell in fitting in the 2k1's engine bay, looks like you got some reading to do.

Okay Waldo...
I'll give you good fortune on your engine swap if you give me good fortune on me getting my 2001 Integra Type R!
And I need $26,500. Where am I at?
$0.
And time is pretty much running out for me but I'm going to need the time to clean out the garage of an old 68 Caddilac Coupe that my dad worked on for the time he was mentally and physically well. I refuse to keep it outside (especially since I doubt I'll be driving it immediately.)
Feel like reading a story? It's late now, and I like to share the means I have behind the decision I chose to make, just like you have. You'll also get to know a lil' bit more about myself but I just feel like sharing this anyway.
As a kid, I would watch my dad work on his car until I turned 10. This whole time, I was never really interested in cars... at all. He was an aircraft mechanic at the old Alameda Air Base (in Alameda, CA but it's been shut down. My dad retired there a few years before it's demise. He earned many zero defects awards.) He still worked on his car though. No one knew his Cadillac like he did. My mother once told me that because it was so personalized extensively by him and only him. He even knew how to detail his own car. (Wish I knew how to do that!) And I'd watch him keep the car looking fresh and new. Of course, I never really knew what it looked like when it was new. He did add some red stripes on the outside. (It was white.) Strangely enough, I still remember the sound of that 320HP engine. My guess was that he added nearly 100HP on it.
Well, daddy fell victim to a stroke and a heart attack due to smoking cigarettes... cursing his mental and physical health. He literally lost all his muscles, and his mind was damaged - he can't remember things for long, in fact... he still thinks it's the year 1992 (the year he had his accident). This also meant that he's unable to drive despite having the strength to turn the wheel and press the gas and brake pedals, without the energy, he can't drive for long periods of time. Without the memory... well... you can practically guess. What can he do with himself? You don't want to know.
In late 2000, I met a guy through one of my past girlfriends. His name is Joe and Joe was a car enthusiast. Basically... whenever he'd talk about cars, I'd know nothing... nothing at all. He's pretty smart, and overall one of the nicest, and kewlest guys I know. He was handed his father's old 92 Acura Integra LS in an automatic. Funny... that car hauls ***. He said it was able to push it to 120 and he took me in it in Sacramento going about 115. I never went that fast before... so I had to get used to it!
Around late Spring of 2001, Joe was able to get a newer Integra... a '97 GSR for the price of $9,000. It was white. (If you got to his place and all the cars there are white!) It was a salvaged car in great condition with a few physical tarnishes (Mods? It was lowered with springs and sat on 14 inch tires! Cut gear shift), and getting in that car never made me realize until now that I didn't know what I was getting in to. He took me for a test drive in it around his neighborhood (I didn't know how to drive a manual yet so, hey) and hearing that engine roar... uncontrollably put a smile on my face! (And still does!) I'm like...
I didn't even know why! Either way, I was impressed!
By the end of summer, I got my driver's license, and by November I have my 1st car AND 1st manual, my 2002 Honda Civic Coupe EX. Joe liked my choice of cars by appearance and one more thing... I let him go for a test drive in it. I could honestly say that the best thing he liked about my car compared to his was the clutch. The clutch on his GSR is hard! By this time, he had modded his car with money saved... AEM Cold Air Intake, DC Sports Headers, new spark plugs, I think a Greddy Exhaust, clear signals (love those), BLUE headlights with matching rewired signals and 17 inch tires/rims and I have got to get a picture of his rims... they are REALLY nice. When he got his tires put on, people were already asking to race him. (I don't think he'd do it. He claims he fixes his car up just for hobby.) So I grew a love for Hondas.
I chose the Civic first from it's tailights, to it's overall look, and how it performed, especially on gas. I studied and read up about it. Test drove it (the automatic only!) and met the most attractive saleslady (and her most attractive older bosslady!)
I look under the hood of my car and tell myself, "I have a lot to learn" cuz the only thing I could point out was the engine. I showed my dad my first car and he liked it. I got a compliment out of him, and sometimes he'd forget that I had a new car another day.
I grew eager to learn more about cars and by doing this, I noticed a change in me. Going into the automotive field seemed like I was straying away from my "original" self, being more like one of my parents. But hey, I'm 19. I realize I've got quite a way to figure out who I'll be in years to pass through newer unexpected experiences... just like this one.
I can't remember when I ran into this webpage. I joined it after I got my car evidently, but I found it through another webpage of someone's black 2001 Civic posted. I can't remember who it was and I have a slim chance of finding that webpage. Let's say... 2k1Civic.com became a lot more than I had expected. The more I learned from Joe and this webpage was simultaneously beneficial, but slightly scary. I learned more and more about cars in general, all I talk about is cars, cars, cars now. The good ones, the bad ones, and the evil SUVs, etc..
It wasn't until late last year to early January that I had grown to love Integras (thank you, Joe!) just after seeing Joe's and hearing it. (I haven't gotten to drive it yet. It's not insured but he'll let me.) The Integra GSR was the perfect car to set me on my automotive loving feet. I just started to crave it, I guess because naturally I would want another car, but by getting to know cars under the hood better (and my love for speed... now speed and power... horsepower and torque) made me want a faster car. My first choice was an Integra GSR because it's fast and economical, but I also liked the Honda Civic Si Coupe. I love Civics. (Mostly the 6th and 7th generation ones unless the 5th gens have admirable body kits.) I believe I always will, but like I said... it was the Integra that woke up the sleeper - but there was a sleeper to begin with because of my dad.
I never really understood why Joe liked the Integra so much until I researched it myself. Reading, and reading, and reading as if I was going to get another car for myself... I probably ran into some of the best reading I could ever read about a car... and I found what I want.
Naturally, the Acura Integra Type R.
I want this car because it put me on my feet. My love for cars is now a new path through life and a new hobby, and enjoyment. I like to blame Joe about this result!
Joe and I have grown a lot together through cars, bad relationships and now GIRLS we both like (we won't let no woman get between us, f'ck that!), but he's like a brother to me cuz we're just there for each other between the bullsh't and times when life is just damn good! Love ya, bro!
And I also want this car to be very thankful of what my father has given to me. I never knew I could enjoy modding a car though so far I've only been able to clear my headlights... and it wasn't that hard for it being the first thing I've ever done in terms of working on a car. I was lucky enough to have nearly all the tools to do it though it didn't take a lot. Anyways, this is how I want to remember my father... a VERY smart man who some people considered a genius... who is not in the best health, and though still alive, unable to see me go through as I walk the path through life. This is not just for me... it's for him, too. He loved his car, and it appears as if it's fate is now in my hands, but to sell it... is not an easy decision for me to make.
And yes, I do want the Integra to be in Championship White Pearl... (with some red on it, just like my dad's.) Yeah, Joe's is the same color... but he plans to get his painted black so it'll be kew seeing a black and a white Integra together.
But I can't be too picky with colors with such a car, can I? It can be changed!
Here you go... :: drops 2 pennies ::
Good luck on the engine swap,
ZeLL

Oh! Yeah, there's also an old Harley that has low mileage on it and it's value... well... tripled. It's about 28 years old and couldn't have more than 15k miles on it. Some day I'd like a bke but not a Harley. (I'm more modern...) Anyways, adieu!

wow sonic, that was a very touching story. you almost had me in tears toward the end. just kidding, ha ha. but i like your life story and your sentimental reasoning for wanting a specific car. most people just want one cause it's fast or it looks good, but you have a REAL reason for wanting that car, and i admire that. good hunting!
The complete K20 swap is gonna be expensive as h3ll for the next couple of years, so i say if you want one bad enough youll get the 02si (I don't give a fu*ck what it looks like its got a K20 block and a head swap with a K20C wouldnt be that hard)

Hehe, my "automotive life" story. I do want it cuz it's fast and looks good, too. But yeah, I can't go wrong with that really being my reason for it... it looks like I'm gonna have to drop out of college to get it so i can make more money full-time. Something may work out for me to still go to school, but I am really serious about this. I can always go back to school and I don't plan to be away from it longer than a year and a half. The sooner I get the car despite whatever I miss through school, the better chance I have getting the car. I hope I find time to come back to the forums!

(Ah, my job better have a computer with internet access...)
I dont try to flame you but drop out of school? dont do it!

Thats what i did after i finish high school, what can i say? I make a bad choice. At first i thought i could get a job, start making money and bought my first car 96 honda civic EX(instead of drivin my parents minivan around), it was all nice and stuff. After a year pass by, i started to hate my job, workin 6 days a week and not even enuff money to pay all expense. Then another year pass by, i said f**K it and i didnt want to work like this all my life. i needed to get back to school. Here i am, still in school at the age of 23, takin same class as those ppl 18-19 yrs old who just come out of high school, because i kept gettin bad grade and needed to repeat to get a better GPA for transfer to a University. Why i keep gettin bad grade? Due to forget all the cal, chem, physic stuff i learned back in the day and my memory was not as great as before. It wasnt a smart move. I regret it. I wish i just hurry finished school back then, so all the stuff i learned in high school still fresh in memory. Don't do it, try your best to finish your degree now. You will sure get a much better job than now and make more money. and at that moment, you dont want to get integal, you will be lookin at BMW and stuff. Also keep your civic and learned more from it for now(b4 moving on to the bigger boy like gsr or type r) i bet you don't know every single thing your civic does and how everything works. Also try to improve your driving skill, how to drive it better on quick turns, launch it better, take stuff apart and put them back in, learned what each stuff in the car does etcetc. just my 2cents!
enuff talk and lets have a

Thanks for the advice and sharing your experience... sigh...
Working without a degree is hard, and not having the knowledge you need to know is harder, but this doesn't mean I won't be studying in my spare time! My goal is graphic art, and I'm interested in the Japanese culture so I am also taking elementary Japanese because someday I want to go to Japan.
Unfortunately I just dropped all my daytime classes over the internet, and left the evening class, which is... Japanese.
The Type R is not going to be the last car I get or would want (I'm sure!) but I know what I want and I now have a "stronger" purpose if you ask me... if that could be understood by others, but for the most, I understand why I'm doing it and I can't go back. (Yeah, BMWs are nice, too!)
I wish I did know how ever lil' single thing works in these new cars... (TOO many damn wires). I'd like to get an old beat up car and fix it up from scratch one of these days.
Driving skills... never go at high speeds in a Civic and go on curvy turns over at 85MPH with the stock firestones because the car the tires... just... suck! At the start, raise the tach needle around 3,000-4,000. (A lil' higher with better tires and much higher with faster cars! Otherwise, the firestones will wear.) Since I don't have my Civic now... eh... can't take anything apart until next week when I get it back after a deer hit me. (I gotta clear the new left headlight.) There is a lot of stuff I still want to do with my car. Man I can't wait to get it back.
Ah, yeah, there's a lot to learn... thank goodness for this website. If you can't fix it... bring your problem here; if we can't fix it, go to the dealer; if they can't fix it... wait until someone else who has that problem have the ***** to fix it!
In the spirit of brotherhood... TOAST!
Thanks for the luck, im 18 and i cant go to college cause i wasted time doing other stuff (job for car) to keep my gpa up. I want to go to college and study network admninstrator which i already got a background in but i cant get a job in that field just my advice stay in school and get a better job an wait to get it and pay it off in full with your new good payin job after college So now im goin into airfoce hopefulyl ill be accepted and get high on asvab and try to go to college afterwards and i know dont flame me but im gonna use most of the signing bonus for the swap. and if you wanna know why cause i love my car too much to get rid of it. ive done my first everything almost in that car, first wreck, first car nothing sexual aight dont wanna dirty the car! Im juss tryin to get as much as information as i can so i can be prepared to see the bill lol
id try to go the turbo way but if you look at it its almost gonna be the same truthfully and id rather have a reliable car and spend the extra dollar. So far ive just been goin out at the races and askin around and i get the same response not bein racist but" i know this oriental guy in st pete that can take care of ya" and ive heard this from several different people from different parts of the county so there must be somone over here that can do it i just wanted htowncivc to do it so i could get some info from his swap and use it towards mine.
