Evev though you dont plan on having a fam anytime soon in 4 years you'll be 28, think about that. And yes, Evo and STI seem kinda rice at times. I personally wouldnt get a 3 series just yet being so eairly in the new models. The G35 has been around so that might be worth looking into. I like the Volvo S40 and S60's alot, sporty, mature, quick and not so flashy. You can also look into some of the higher model Acura's, they are nice too. But if your set on either a 3 series or a G35, go G35 or wait a year and then get a 3 because they will have the bugs worked out. Or go buy a used 02/03/04 M3 Then your getting the best of everything. I think the last M3 was the sexiest BMW ever.

im not set on the g35 or 3 series just yet. i found out that the new 3's dont come out until summer of 06 and then a new one will come out again in jan of 07. so in other words, the 06 will be a half year. the g35 is nice but they are a dime a dozen here. there arent very many options. i havent really thought of the volvo but i'll check those out. i heard a rumor that the is300 was also changing very soon.

i never thought it would be this hard to spend 34k.

They are considered Skylines, they *aren't* considered Skyline GT-Rs. Most people don't realize that Skyline *doesn't* just mean the Skyline GT-R. There's a whole line of Skylines, most of which aren't that stellar. Only the GT-R's the awesome car. A regular, non-GT-R R34 Skyline has mid 200HP, no Atessa ET-S, no 4WD... it's an above-average sports coupe. The G35 is in the same vein... no Atessa ET-S, RWD, HP in the mid 200s. Specs-wise, it's not all that different from a Skyline R34 GTS or GTS-T. The GT-R equivalent hasn't come out yet. Think of it as:

G35 = Skyline GTS
Infiniti GT-R = Skyline GT-R

Skyline does not equal GT-R. GT-R is an upper level variant of the Skyline, like the M3 is the upper level variant of the 3 series. Saying the current Skyline isn't a Skyline GT-R is like saying a 3 series isn't an M3... it makes no sense.

Back on topic though, maybe it'd be better wait and see what the 3 series coupe is going to look like? It's probably going to have different sheetmetal like the last 3-series. And from a performance standpoint, I doubt most people would push either car to the limit. The G35's loads of fun driving through twisty roads, albiet maybe a bit more body roll than a 3 series. Obviously either car is a winner, but I prefer the G35 just for its bang for the buck.
