2006 3 series or g35 coupe?
the ol' civy is getting a little old and i'm thinking about upgrading. i can't seem to find when the new 3 series COUPE will be coming out. anybody know? i also love the way the g35 couple looks but i know that it's been out for a couple of years and i'm sure they'll change the body style very soon. can anyone confirm this and if so, when? maybe it'll be like the is300 that hasnt changed in a decade.
which would you get?
anybody have any recommendations for spending 30-40k on a car? i'm really not interested in wrxs or evos. i just want a nice ride.

when i got my oil changed last week at the honda dealership, i walked over to the infiniti dealership and looked at the g35's (as well as the 350z) and all i can say is that I WANT ONE DAMMIT! clean body lines, nice interior and so much more....

and hey; if you think about it, it IS a skyline.. in japan.. i like the e30 convertibles =). i think all 3 series cars were generally good preformers, but only every other generation of the 3 series is a hot. so e30 and e46 are hot, while e36 and e90 are not. they are good performers like i said, but they are also a lil bland, they dont stand out.
The G35 however i feel stands out more in a crowd, however you dont get handling of a BMW. Its cheaper and its probably more reliable since its built on a proven VQ engine and widely used platform.
I wouldnt mind driving either one, but i still want an e30 =)

This month's Car & Driver has a comparison of the Acura TL, Audi A4 3.2 Quattro, BMW 330i, Cadillac CTS, Infiniti G35, Lexus IS350, Saab 9-3 Aero, and Volvo S60R AWD.

As much as I love the G35 coupe... it's kind of outdated now. Plus they're more common in my area then a RSX.
I'd get the BMW unless Infiniti redesigns the G soon.

I think if your only looking at those two cars your limiting your choises alot. There are alot of great cars in that 30-34K price range that are worth looking at. You should also consider where you will be in 4 years.. Will you have a family? Will you be single in the street racer mode? I'd also look into cars such as the WRX Sti, S2000 (if your keeping the civic or have another car for a beater/daily driver), IS300, EVO, Audi A4, or even the Volvo S40 is a great car. Just look into and test drive as many cars as you can and try to think about what you will be using it for in the comming years, not just today. Another thing to look at is the re-sale value of cars your considering so when you go to sell. Good luck.

"Ultimate driving machine" is a marketing moniker. Frankly 99% of drivers won't push a BMW or G35 to the point where you'd actually notice the difference. Driving the G35 sedan, I must say it's an awesome car--only downside is its cheapo interior. BMW's are overpriced, that's my main gripe. Plus it's driven by burgeois 30-somethings who could care less about performance and simply take pride in the fact that it's a well-made car.
The G35 IS THE SKYLINE. Sheesh. The Skyline and GT-R badge split, dang I dunno how many times I've said this. Think of the Skyline (GTS, GTS-T, GTS25) as the regular 3 series, and the Skyline GT-R as the BMW M3--they're totally different cars. Quit putting em in the same vein. Plus the Infiiniti GT-R is going to be around $60-70k.

im 24 and married. i dont plan on having a family soon, either. i would get the g35 but it just seems like it's old. does anyone know when they'll change the body style? it's a little cheaper than the bmw. i dont like the evo or sti. no disrespect but they just seem like ricer-mobiles.
