camry's are probably your best bet for used cars under 10k. You can pick up a 02 with 20-50k on it for 9k private. Probably like 11k at the dealer. My 96 camry last 200k before i sold her for my vic. They have a lot of trunk space and get decent mileage. There priced cheaper then accords too.

One thing to be aware of on V6 camary's; they run a vary close tolerance with their intake valves to piston postion. After some time, gunk can build up on the valves and make them stick out just far enough to hit the piston. The solution to this is simple use a fuel cleaner like FP60 from Lube Control or the Red Line fuel cleaner with a fill up every couple of months.

Don't get me wrong, they are GREAT cars and very reilable if you take note of this.

the first few years there were a lot of problems with them, in 2000 they were redesigned some and the engine was worked over some and it solved alot of the bugs, my girlfriend has a 2000, very nice car, but i wouldn't get it if she wants to save gas, it's heavy and rear wheel drive and sucks gas, fun to drive through

Hyundai's have come way up in reliability. For around $9,000 I would take a 2 year old Hyundai with 30,000 mi. over a 10 year old Honda with 130,000.
