yeah mugen IS NOT the equivilent of TRD to toyota. Honda has HFP. They ARE NOT mugen. mugen is its own entity that makes honda/racing parts.
yeah mugen is like RUF for porsche. good point.

Others have covered it, but Honda has no part in mugen. It had been founded and run by Mr. Honda's son, but there are no actual ties between the two companies. Honda has further distanced itself from mugen after that companies legal problems involving (I believe) tax irregularities. Don't mean to snap at anyone, but these threads are useless if they are filled with incorrect information.

the way i see it, if the kid of the honda creator created mugen, and alot if not all of mugens parts fit honda cars, then i would say they indirectly own each other, or feed off of each other so to speak. i bet the two CEOs of the 2 companies are friends and all. if its in the family its part of the family.

mugen and honda are two seperate entities.
Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda founder Soichiro Honda, owns 40% of Honda's shares, and is the boss of Mugen. However, the two companies remain a seperate entity.

You'd have to do wayyyy too many mods to put it in the 7th gen's bay... Even if it were one of the smallest V8's out there... when it starts production. Think about it, the current engine barely has any room...

Before anyone asks this question again, the v8 found in the Mugen LegendMaXX was formed by combining two b-series engines. Not sure how that was done, but now you know. It will never be production, because who wants to rebuild the engine every couple of days?

Sorry to bring this back but I found this today, thought you all might find it interesting:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honda chief rules out V-8 engine, for now
Honda Motor Co. has decided not to build an eight-cylinder engine because high fuel prices are pushing buyers to more efficient motors. The company will focus instead on expanding diesel and gasoline-electric engine output.
"It's not the time to make a V-8," Honda Chief Executive Takeo Fukui said. "We need to focus on diesels and hybrids first."
Fukui told reporters in Tokyo Aug. 4 that Honda was studying whether to build V-8 engines and "will decide in three years" on using them. He said Tuesday that the company has dropped any plan to build the motors.
Honda this year expects to build 70,000 diesel motors, for models in Europe, and 30,000 gasoline-electric hybrid motors, which will mainly be sold in U.S. cars. The company plans to boost diesel output to 100,000 motors in two years and hybrid production to as many as 50,000 a year by 2007.
Detroit News staff, Bloomberg News and wire reports.
