quite a difference in power and feel especially if you go from auto to manual.

you'll get the hang of it after 10-20 minutes
i learned to drive stick in my bro's 04 Si and whenever i drive any car w/ the stick on the lower console it feels so weird .. hehe for most people it's an inverse relation eh?
when you get the concept of shifting gears, learn to drive on a car at a dealership

IMO, i'd stick with what you got. 23 hp difference aint much, nor is the car in status.
now say, if you were going to get something like a tsx, g35, etc. i might change my opinion.

33 hp difference. plus I will definetly turbo it, can't turbo an auto though, my neighbor has a 2000 si turbo'ed and that f*cker is super fast, the only car he has lost to was an EVO, but after he does a few more mods he'll beat it . Also I learned to drive a stick with my dads old 1986 escort, I did pretty good and it was fun as hell.
P.S. what is an em1

My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

Yes, you can turbo an auto... a couple people have even done it with 7thgens. Is it worth is a different question all together.
DOHC VTEC will pull far harder in the mid and upper range than any SOHC engine will. It's not that the SOHC engines are inferior design or anything, but the SOHC engines are ment for economy with a little kick, the DOHC VTEC engines are ment for BIG kick and power.
BTW, I've had an '03 civic EX manual, '04 civic EX auto, '94 civic with a turbo, and another '94 with the B16A, and now have a '94 Intgra GSR, also have drive a '04 Si. As you can see I've had/drive many DOHC versus SOHC car, and the DOHC VTEC motors are so much nicer as far as a broad peak power and all that stuff. But either one can be made fast.
Drive them both, see what you like, make your own desicions.

I have been driving my 7th gen since march, and I definetly want more power, and a little fun, that's why I want a manual, even though some people say they get sick of shifting all the time (city). Hopefully I can find one.
