lower mileage with exhaust?

seeing as u get 8hp increase on some exhausts.... does that also give u worse gas mileage? i would expect not....!?!?

funny how i haven't seen any exhausts that give 8 HP. my milage has not been affect, aside from the constant reving due to the great sound

there must be more info on this. im thinking about an exhaust but i dont want one if it will affect my gas mileage

No, emissions are fine...

More HP from engine modification(s) = less gas mileage... try to make it a comfortable thought if you want performance out of any car.

actually, most of the time exhaust systems increase performance AND gas mileage... while the change will be HARDLY noticable, just know that it won't hurt it... the reason that Intakes lower it is cause it messes with the air/fuel combo going into the engine, but exhaust exiting the engine really has no effect on that mixture, therefore, wont add extra gas to the engine.... just my $.02

With any "performance mod" your gas milage will go down. It was tweaked to perfection basically in stock form. And on our civic's you will not get an 8hp increase from exhaust mod's.

Some mods will give you both....most of the time an exhaust will give you both (especially on a turbo car.) Free flow = easier flow.
