Dyno today
I just had my car on the dyno. With my basic mods thermal r@d catback, dcsport header, aem pulleys, injen intake sri I ran a 111hp at the wheels not very happy[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG]. But then they put the squeez on my NX kit (50 shot) I got a very happy 152.4hp at the wheels and 163.5 torque. He hooked some kind of thing that tells the A/F mixture and said I was running very very rich. On his dyno 17 is lean and he told me I should be around 12.8 I was running like a 5. He knows his stuff though thats all he does, he went to all the nopi shows with his dyno. He was talkin like I should run a 75shot so it wouldn't be so rich or a 100 shot if I got some gaskets. I don't know how to download pictures but I will if someone tells me exactly how.

heh, rich is much MUCH better then lean on N20. I would NOT reccomend jetting more then a 75 shot. and i wouldnt even go there without an upgraded fuel pump and some AF tuning.

E-Mail me the pics and I'll put them up for you. dobosz@wpi.edu If you want to attach them then click on atach files. Pick a unique name for the file. Prepend your name to it. So if you have car.jpg, use Jhonda-car.jpg That will insure that the picture name will not be changed by the server. Once the picture is uploaded simply link to it. All of the pictures and files that people attach are in the directory http://www.7thgencivic.com/old_attachments/ So your picture Jhonda-car.jpg would have the link http://www.7thgencivic.com/old_attachments/Jhonda-car.jpg To have the image appear within the thread incase it with [IMG] tags, or just click on the little image picture in the tool bar and paste in the link.
hmm, from what ive seen it seems to me like the headers and pulleys are the least effective for us, the exhaust being next, and the intake probably yields some nice gains (simply from a lesser restrictive filter, not so much the cold air or short)
dont that suck? hehe

but NOS is really the cheapest why to get HP out of any cars...my god...[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

NX is designed to run overly rich. this is why they recommend that you do not retard timing. buy a bottle heater! you would have seen better gains.

stock wheel hp is about 110-112 hp on an ex.
if he has an ex. that means those mods dont do crude. but maybe it added more punch through out the powerband, just not the peak hp. gotta see the dyno chart to get an idea.
you wont run mid 15s with our cars with wheel hp around that. I dont see how. maybe if u strip everything that you can.
and wow, extra 50 and more poonies/torque with just 50 shot? whp too? thats nice.

<< k i know this might sound stupid and all but stock ex's are 127................ >>
thats at the flywheel, there is a power loss throuhout the drivetrain, thus the actual hp that gets to the wheels is abot 110
hmmm pretty sad. and imma be spending more money soon on getting the dc header, pulleys, adjustable cam gear, etc... all i've noticed with my intake and exhaust is loss in low-end torque, but mid-range and hi-end hp/torque arent tooo shabby. oh well gotta have some fun with the car, no matter how fast or slow. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/IMG]
Yeah, the pulleys wouldn't have really added much power at your peak, just freed up some low-end, if my knowledge serves me correctly. Now I notice people getting excited about the NO2 kit he has, but on the Nitrous Express DIY, they claim to have gotten 60HP out, and a whopping 200+ torque out of the car, with a bottle heater, of course. So is that Nitrous Express article full of it, or is the NX kit just not that great?
