Sounds like metal dragging when turning

I have noticed over the past month that my car makes a sound similar to metal dragging when I turn left. It is definately coming from the driver's side front wheel. If I had to place the sound, I would guess it sounds like a wire coat hanger dragging inside a spinng drum. But its getting annoying and I am concerned that something may be wrong. My civic is not lowered and I have stock tires. There is nothing visibly rubbing. Anyone have any thoughts?

Does it sound like a chain draggin or like metal agains metal?

metal against metal = brake pads
Dragging = axel.

Is this potentially dangerous or can I wait to get it fixed?

Depends on how bad it is. You may end up damaging more parts and/or the axel may fall leaving you stranded. If I was you, I would take it to get it check out to make sure it is the axel and have it fixed right away.
