I got the letter for 40,000 mile maintenance check-up....
My car is already over 40,000...... (40,600)....
I'm sure this is going to cost me around $160-200.
Is this even worth it?.... Should I do this? What do they really do?

look in the manual an c what it says to do. I would say u wanna do it but the question should be weather or not you want to do it yourself for half the price or pay to have it done. call ur dealership and ask 4 a quote on the 40k maint.
I haven't looked at my service schedule, but I just had my 30,000-mile service (that was about 500.00), and the advisor said that I was good until the next "major" service at 60K, other than oil changes. She didn't mention anything about a special 40K service, but I'll check later.
i got one of those, it came from the dealership, not honda. i called and was like WTF? and said the same thing about 30, 60, and 100k, and it ends up it was just them trying to get more money out of easy service stuff.

then i'll just hold off on it. (and get my gas door fixed)
the wire spring broke inside on the left to pop the gas door, it won't open.
i'm guessing that will cost me $150.

Replacing the engine air filter is a snap, just grab your favorite brand from pepboys or autozone, about $8. The OEM is $12, but from what I've read, are no better or worse that off-the-shelf stuff.

Thanks for the info guys, I might just change the filters myself
. The micron air filter seems simple enough to replace. I think its in the glovebox.
I've changed the engine filter to KN, a while back. Is it better to just replace it with a new OEM, or clean it? I'm @ 25k miles
