im new to this car stuff and id like to change my own oil but what about other maintenance like brakes, fluids and all that other crap. do you take care of that stuff too. or do you take it to the dealer like ever 15,000 miles or something for them to change and replace stuff. just curious. i know that they will probably fix stuff that you dont really need but there is stuff that has to be done as regular maintenance.

You think they actually do stuff if they don't have to? Sucker! I'm planning to DIY everything I can. Everything listed in the manual I'll try to do. That includes replacing brake fluid, replacing engine air filter, replacing cabin air filter, greasing all the hinges and moving parts, changing the oil, changing the transmition fluid, replacing the brake pads, and anything else I can think of. If there is something that needs to be done that I don't have the tools for, then I'll take it to my dealer. Only then though.
