your statement is as valid as saying "anyone can drive a road course".
Yes, anyone can drive a road course. No where did I EVER mention times. The main purpose of my argument was to say that racing in a straight line requires far less skill than autocross given normal scenarios (not funny cars or f1 cars that is). Most importantly I was inferring that tearing down the s2k as a drag racer is not a legitimate argument considering that drag racing is not what it is designed for.

driving fast in a straightline isn't racing. Drag racing is about fast cars, if a driver can't shift optimally its a driver incomptency. To road race you have to be able to shift on the money every time among other things. Its a lot more difficult to learn to push the car to the limits of adheision than it is to press a clutch and upshift.

no car is really designed for drag, or racing. thats why you modify. i know civics aren't meant to be raced and dragged but they do. so yeah. i agree with honda quality part

people who are saying drag racing requires no skill are being fairly arrogant. it requires a DIFFERENT kind of skill to drive a road course, or auto-x, and yes, probably requires more skill as well.

but to say that drag racing requires little skill is foolish and ignorant at best.

It depends the car. Much less skill is required to drive a 240 hp stock car straight than it does to autocross it. Now if we are talking about a zr-1 with 4.10s and a 100 shot in a straight line that is a diff story. My original comment i thought would be taken as it pertained to the s2k considering the thread topic.

So you agree, the added skill of actually turning the car along with the up-shifting of drag racing adds to the difficulty as many other factors are added into the equation.
