GM transmissions?

Anyone have any experience with GM manual transmissions? How are they? Specifically the 6 speed such as the one in the G6 coupe.

The tranny in the saturn ion is horrible... WAYYY to easy to shift, and you can't feel the gears at all.. Its kinda hard to explain.

I'm surprised. Good to hear though. I really really like the G6 coupe design, but since its not out yet I'm trying to get as much info on it and GM products as I can. A little off topic but....Since it was the 6 speed you drove I'm guessing it was the GTP, did it haul a$$? Did you like the engine?

I got some experience with the Pondiac GTP.

I can say it is a very nice and smooth car. However I would suggest you to get a used one instead of a new one, as they depreciate a bit more than the imports and you can get a great deal that way.

Nice and smooth is all well and good. Was it a "drivers car"? Did it have the 6 speed, if so, how did you like it?
