Dings & Dents
Dings & Dents
I FAWKING HATE people who park so freakin close to ur car, even tho ur car is parked really close to a curb, and jam their doors into ur car!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was washing/waxing my car today and I counted like 7 dents~!!!!!
And then, I try parking in the back and guess what, some dickwad decides "hey lets park next to that nice civic, out of all the parking spots, and put dents in it!" Does anybody seem to experience this??? Or any advice how people keep their cars nice and "even" and free of dents??????

I never visted The Dent Wizard as much as I have since I bought my Civic, we have kind of gotten along he even comes to my house now and repairs my dings, I think that is the cheapest way to go.

people make fun of me for parking far (example: "dude, why are you parking so far, park closer"). this is the reason why, sometimes people are bastards and don't respect property unless it's their own.

I get soooooooooo pissed whenever I see a new dent. It looks like the car isn't taken care of, even if I try my damdest to take care of it! Its other people that don't take care of my car... park far, but not too far as thieves will take advantage. park in a spot where your car is easily seen, but not many around.
think of it this way, the further you park, the more calories you would burn from walking and getting the little excerise step. its probably like few calories per day but it all adds up if you park at that location everyday..

yeah my friend parked away from people so they wouldnt ding his car. instead they broke is window stole his deck and subs. i would rather take a few dents lol
That's What I'm Talking About!!!
I always park far and take two spaces, even at work and I always walk around before I leave the car and the when I get back, that way I know what was there when I parked it and what is new when I am back.
I'm still in school and our back lot is full so it's impossible to avoid it. I discover new ones every week or so and I get so pissed. I park so f-ing far away yet people STILL find ways to wreck my car. A firebird i was parked next to at school slammed his door into my car while i was about to pull out and he says "The damage on my door is worse than on your car". I hate people.

I try not to park next to SUV's, coupes, Cadillac's, Buicks, VW's.
One time I went to Mohegan Sun (casino), I go back next next morning there was a fairly large dent on my door.... I figured someone lost a ton of money and just whipped open their door on to mine.

It felt good after, that f^cker deserved it.
i have had my 02 ex coup for almost 2 years and the only person to put a dent in my car was my dad when i was home from college. our drive way fits a town and coutry, my civic, and a pilot but it can be a tight fit sometimes; and one day my dad was mad and flung his drivers side door open and the soft plastic bump gaurd put a nice ding (about the size of 50 cent piece) between the drivers side door and the gas tank lid. way to go dad...

best thing i can reccomend is a car cover. seems like a simple answer, well thats because it is a good one. while it might not prevent all the heavier dings and run-in's, it will protect the clear coat and the paint. it's much easier to remove shallow dents on the longside than to re-paint a car because someone keyed it or what have you. heh, it seems like our cars are more prone to denting than paint scratching. I'm always finding mysterious little bumps on my car. One day i found a friggin mark that looked like it was caused by a high velocity projectile. i think it was a bb gun but my custom paint job kicks ***, so the clear coat wasnt phased.
anyone also notice those 'ring type' marks on the lower portion of the rear bumper? those are by far the most mysterious IMO. do they come like that from the factory or something? it looks like its caused by stacking cars bumper to bumper alittle too close during transportation. hell even my buddies NEW off lot toyota camry LE had some of those ring imprints.

i have a total of like 16 dents in my car. door dings, fallin branches, walnuts, whatever. but the day i catch someone dinging my door i swear ill use their head to put a dent in their car.
i also know a guy who will park in handicap spaces when the lots are crowded cause he figures its cheaper to pay the tickets than to get the dents taken out everytime.

Back when I used to work at the mall I would park at the far end of the lot, and then someone left a cinnamon cake on my hood
so i started parking close, and got my car keyed
you can't win. there's too many jackasses in this world.
side note: you ever notice those huge *** boatcars from the 60s/70s never have any dings despite how badly wrecked or how rusted up it is
old people and their tanks with 10 foot doors are probably the main cause of our dings

damn....i remember rite b4 i left home for college about 2 years ago, i was driving out of my neighoborhood and there were these lil kids that were riding those annoying motor skooters really close to my car coming off the sidwalk so i slow down and they pass and next thing i hear is "clank donk" and im like "SHIET!" and there it was: a HUGE *** dent the size of a tennis ball on my door from his handle bars. I wanted to beat the shiet outta him, but seeing how he was prolly like 13 i woulda gotten in trouble if i touched him and i knew he did that shiet on purpose. My car was stopped and there was no reason for him to bump into me.
I am just outraged at people who have no respect for another persons property!!!
Yesterday afternoon, I hand washed my '05 Civic and it came out nice and clean and shiny.
During the time I washed my car the following is a list of previous dents/dings caused by careless idiots:
1 dent on passenger side rear door with the paint scraped off in the dent
1 dent on trunk lid center (no missing paint)
1 dent on trunk lid driver side with the paint scraped off in the dent
This morning when I take the car out, I notice the following new damage:
6 small scrapes in like a 2 inch by 2 inch area on the driver side rear door which took the friggen paint off (no dents were there but whoever did it took the friggen paint off).
A series of 3 dents which took the paint off on the trunk lid passenger side over by the corner of the tail light.
I don't know why all the dents on my trunk lid have been appearing this past couple of weeks.
I park my car in my apartment building's lot and on the driver side, the car that is parked next to me, I know who the driver and he's no wacko, no car is parked next to me on the passenger side.
I have a feeling its those stupid kids that use the lot as a playground and they ride their bikes and Razr scooters as well as play ball sometimes and their parents arent even watching them.
I found a nice sized rock about the size and weight of a golf ball laying in the middle of the lot today (I didn't see it there yesterday as I washed the car). I suspect that someone may have been playing with it and left a dent on the trunk but I'm not sure, just suspicious.
Anyway, I spent much of the afternoon cleaning up the scrapes/dents and filling them with the touch up paint to protect the damage where the paint is missing. The areas where I touched up only need a small dot of paint, so I think I will see how well the paint works as it dries.
Well tonight, I went out and checked out the car every hour or so to see if any new damage appeared and just to check out if any shady activity was going on. So far nothing new.
I guess no matter how much TLC you give your car, theres always someone willing to lend a hand to help you mess it up!!

Man, the other day I went to the mall and I parked like at least 10 spots away from anyone else and I come out and there is a van parked on the line, and I cannot even open my door to get in. I had to crawl in the passenger side. If my friend Lindsay was not with me, I would have kicked the side of the van in.
I am very picky about parking areas. At malls and supermarkets with parking lots, I always try to park next to an island where there's usually grass and a tree planted and leave like 3 feet of space between my car and the line. But there's always some person who parks their beat up old car next to me even if I park as far away as possible. I don't think other drivers get the message.
