Bike Gear

Those of you that ride bikes, what kind of gear do you have? I'm going to be getting my bike soon and I want to get my gear well ahead of time. Im thinking about a joe rocket jacket, but im not sure what kind of helmet to buy except for the fact that im going to be looking for a snell and dot approved helmet. What do you guys recommend getting? BTW my bike is going to be silver

Get a Shoei or an HJC helmet

Like if youve got dollars go for the Shoei, theyre generally considered "the best" and youll be strait pimpin with the Shoei logo on the top of yer head.

But you cant go wrong with an HJC, you can get somethin halfway decent for like 100-150 bucks.

I have an HJC helmet. Seems a bit heavy at times but is otherwise comfortable. I have gloves from Joe Rocket. They are fairly large gloves and a pain to put on, but once they're on they are great. My jacket is still on order. If you want cheap gear try www.newenough.com and check the closeouts. Good job on deciding to get gear before the bike

Ive got a Scorpion exo-700 helmet. These helmets are by far the best bang for your buck. Go search up the scorpion website. The fog deflector works perfectly, Ive never had this thing fog. Face plate switching is easy as hell. Have you thought about boots and pants yet? It kind of depends on your climate, and what type of riding you plan to do. If you live in a hot climate and dont plan to go take the bike through a fun day at the canyons or up in the twisty mountains, then just get some textile pants and jacket. Gloves need to be leather no matter what. ICON has some pretty good ones out. A good site for apparrel is www.newenough.com - Great prices and lots of gear, and quick as hell shipping. If your going to be doing any type of spirited/speeding riding, get leather everything. A tight fitting leather jacket and some tight leather pants. Get some boots that are upper shin length if you are going to be doing any type of spirited riding.

I rocked the Shoei helmet, which cost me a G note, with my Alpine Star Jacket and gloves. I only used my jacket and gloves when it was cold out...

Btw... don't be a poser and get a full one piece leather suit if you only plan on street riding.

I use a shoei helmet for myself and I have a hjc for the broad on the back. I have a one piece leather for track days, two piece leather which is cool cause u can just rock the jacket if you want and a joe rocket mesh jacket. I also where i set of alpinestar gloves which i wont ride without.

What kinda bike are you getting. I just bought an 05 Ninja ZX-10r and i love it. 0 - 100mph in first gear in about 5 secs. Oh so sweet.
