Ok hyundai may beat Honda on VERY few areas(and I emphasize on very few), but Hyundai is the off brand of civic. Say you go to the grocery store and want cherios but don't have the cash. What do you do? You buy the cheaper off brand CAPTAIN O's. Don't say that none of you have done it. I bet everyone has been in college once. Hyundai may be a cheaper car and they may get lucky a year or too in certain stats. For instance, a 2001 Hyundai Elantra may beat a 2002 Honda Civic DX (sorry but EX and LX still whoop up on it) in acceleration but as for TOP SPEED Civic still holds the category. not to mention, Civics do last longer.

Are Hyundai Elantras made exactly like civics but with cheaper parts? NO! they're not off-brand civics or anything of that nature. They're different cars marketed to different segments of people. Geez, this isn't a hard concept.

Whats funny about these threads are that they're usually made and supported by people who need some kind of reconcilement for their purchase. They usually use very vague facts or myths to support there arguement and they almost always shoot down every fact thrown at them.

i personally thought your supposed to compare the hyundai ACCENT to the civic. not the elantra. but i guess not. anyway the offer still stands, anyone want a piece of my vic with there 4banger tiburon or elantra hit me up. i'm not saying hyundai quality is bad, i'm saying its no where close to honda. its just an opinion. hey cambo do you own a hyundai? or do you own a honda built ride? i believe you have a TL. when you trade your TL for an accent or elantra then I will. get my point?
