personally, the civic is plenty fast for me, i mean, its not EXTREMELY slow. i'd stick with the vic. it really depends on what suits your needs. im a student, so a high MPG is really important to me.

i love my civic too even tho its slow. You just gotta find whats more important. To me I'd rather have a sweet car even if its at the lower hp end. imo civic is one of the best looking car made.

yeah they might be slow but if your important people will wait. Keep the civic it will cost you less in the long run. if you try and trade it in you'll go upside down in a new purchase.

Dude financially it doesn't make sense to just trade in your car now since you just bought it. And the cars your comparing aren't rockets either, I don't think its really worth the switch. If you have the manual its plenty fun to drive, that engine loves to be in the high revs, but I think you should break it in first. When I first got the car I was shifting at 3k rpm and I was like darn I can't beat anything, then I started shifting 4k,then 5 and now redline .
It's definately a fun car to drive.

well I guess i'm assuming that most civic owners can only afford a below 20K car. Don't you only get maybe 1/2 the value when you trade in anyway...oh well. how's the typhoon doing? I love mine for the vic.

I've also thought of trading in my Vic for a tC before. The problem is, I lose out $$$ if I do. Don't get me wrong though, I love my Vic and I'll stick with it. But if you really do want to get rid of your Vic for another car, why not sell the Vic privately. You wont lose out on too much $$$. A tC is just a couple G's more than an EX.

People who say they are fine with a slow car need to drive some more fast cars. Once you get around town in something with power, its impossible to drive a slow car. Its like trying to go from 56k to cable back to 56k. It hurts..

scion tc is new, meaning itll have flaws cause its the first production year. if you have no money keep the civic. 40mpg is pretty frickin sweet. anyone else think so? if you want it to go faster do something to it. make it faster, don't hope it gets there. lol

i've driven plenty of fast cars... 300zx turbo, rx-8, g-35, turbo 240sx. i really dont have the desire to get a reall fast car anyways. and think about it, on the street you can only go an average of 45 mph anyways... so whats the point. my car can get to the speed limit too, it just takes a little extra time.

dude you know how slow the car was when you bought it. I dont understand why you bought the car then. The Tc is a very nice car for the money, you can invest in the handling aspect of your vic, you cant go fast in your vic but you can turn fast in it. Most of us have invested money in suspension bits. good luck

They got to be fast and handle well and feel fast. I'm not going to rock a v6 camry or v6 auto accord just cause its faster than an type S in a straight line. They got to be like your upgrade a sport compact.

But holy crap was the evo fast. I'll try and post a pic or two.
I only had the chance to race 3 or four STI's but trounced them all.

I went to see what the dealerships woudl do. I talked one up to giving me 15k for my car and then talked them down to 16,500 for a new Si. I am paying 248 a month now or so. If i traded it in i would be just under 300.. So i said F it. I buiklt my false floor for my vic coupe and put in a nasty stereo that took me like 14 straight hours to finish. I might add i got heat exhaustion from working in 90+ weather with no breaks but it was worth it. Sounds Sick. I also got one of those 250 mbquart 4 channel amps they are sick just so you know.

OO and for all the people that ask why i did not go with the Si. It was not that much faster than my vic. I do like the k20 much better but, the trunk was not big enough for my system plans and I still think the civic coupe is sexier. IMHO

the civic is cheap..im paying 215 a month with cheap insurance for a beginner driver...and allot of parts are out there for a civic...i know i want to keep my first car,....have it look real nice a have a little speed put in a turbo and internals..then when i know allot about cars ill get a real fast one so i have a little from both worlds...but in time....civics are good because they last...i cruse and see so many times people destroy there cars and say well its only 7 yrs old...well mine can go 15 and then may need a swap...so i laugh at them.....
