WTF - Beware of Windshield Wipers
Okay so i just get my car back from the alignment shop and i decide to change the windshield wiper blades. So I head outside and go to pull the old blades off. When i tug on them, the clamping plastic piece doesnt seem to move. So naturally i depress the release and pull on it a little harder. All of a sudden the whole arm gives way and is left looking like a dislocated arm. So im like WTF just happened. So I pull back the crown and to my dismay I find that the metal piece that is used to hold the gyro in place has completly snapped off. At this point I am so pissed off I dont know what to do. So I call back to honda and tell the service guy what just happened and wanted to know if they could replace it. All they say is to bring it in tommorow and well see what we can do. After further inspection I find that the metal piece that broke is really part of another piece of the car. It looks like there going to have to repalce the whole block metal piece which is bolted into the upper piece of the engine. Either that or weld the thing back on. So right now I dont know what to do. I'm going to take it to them in the morning and figure out what to do from there. Right now I am still really pissed off. I've attached some pics below. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I mean really I shouldnt have been able to pull this piece off. I dont care how strong you are, its at least half an inch thick solid metal plate. For it to snap in two like that makes me think defect. PICS are below. (These pics are taken looking through the crown hole, looking down were the wiper arm inserts)

UPDATE ---
Okay so im sitting in hondas lounge on there complimentary net connect and they just told me its going to be $525 to fix that, since the piece that snapped is actually part of the tranny. So natrually im saving the piece and reporting this to honda for restitution. This suxs so bad though, so to everyone out there be careful when changing your wiper blades .....

No its not that hard to change them. In fact this is the third time ive changed them; Not to mention ive installed cambers and an intake. The simple fact of the matter is that the part has to be defective in order for it to snap like that. Im in talk with honda consumer services right now to see if i can get this thing comp'd. Ill post a pic of this later today as that I have the entire wiper transmission -- which is the part that had to be replaced. As i said before metal shouldnt snap like that, even the guys at the service center said so, the thing split like it was clay or something.
