What does everyone think about the Toyota Solara? It looks dead sexy to me. Although, its a bit underpowered, and it doesn't look like there is a manual option for the V6. Other than that, it looks like a damn sweet car. Has anybody had any experience with them? Also, anyone else think the Pontiac G6 coupe looks very similar?

Rep Power: 0 The older solara, 2001 model is freaking nice, Im not a big fan of the newer style tails and stuff, my mom drives it and it has a lot of power and she is trying to sell it, with only 23000 miles on it.

If only it were a Honda, I would like it even more. The Accord coupe is so bland. What I really like about the Solara is that it is hot, but not gawdy. The G6 coupe has a dead sexy exterior, but the interior is trashy and has no class. Not to mention its craptacular pushrod powerplant.

Rep Power: 322 I like the slightly sharper look of the Accord and RSX over the curvy look of the Solara. I'd choose any of those over the G6, even though the G6 looks ok, its just the fact that the design came a little too late.

Rep Power: 0 To me, the new Solara looks identical to the Lexus SC430 with it's curvy shape. It looks good but it seems more of a girls car. I'd go with the Accord Coupe over the solara.

Rep Power: 309 i drive an 2002 solara v6 SLE auto sometimes on the weekends. a lot of power and torque for daily driving around the city and highway. its no race car, but its pretty much the step above the camry with options and power. i would drive it over the civic and rsx, but the looks is the downfall. mostly when it has major scratches and other cosmetic damage.
never drove the newer ones, but i can bet there better than the previous models.

its cushy and soft. even when driving over rough road conditions, it'll still be soft and firm ride. compared to a 2001 bmw 5 series, it rides a little smoother. but thats probably because the bmw was on 17s and the solara was on 16s with fat rubber.
as for turns, compared to my civic, its not that great. i tossed it around on highway exits and some city turns, it rolls around a lot. but i can bet a little suspension modding can fix that but favor the civic over the solara on the twist.
think of it like this, a solara is a car that has plently power and pushing for the daily driver who wants to get from point A to B peacefully and safely. its not a car that you would optim performance for.
