hey i thought i saw something on here where some company got their turbo kit off of someone on this board's idea or design, is this true??, if so..how would you go about protecting your idea and presenting?
is it just a matter of patenting, and is that a long process??

honestly, I don't believe you could patent the idea unless you designed everything from the ground up. That is to say you built your own turbo, computer management system, piping, and so forth. All you'll be doing is taking other people's patented equipment and assembling and/or arranging it in a certain order. So I would venture to say, No.
However that is not to say you couldn't assemble the kit, document and photograph the installation of the project, get the written consent of all companies whose parts you used and then sell the instruction manual.
