weird noises in my 05 civic.. need help!
i just installed tein s techs in my civic and i did it by myself wiht a couple friends. the back springs went good and the front springs took us around like 3 hours.. well anyways when i put on the front ones i realized that my steering wheel wasnt straihgt and the wheels were straight tho.. so after i pushed the wheels back straight with the steering wheel and it seemed alright. after i drove around i heard CLANKING noises whenever i hit a bump or something. it feels like my axel but im not too sure.. i know its not hte springs cuz i tried hard turns to see if it would make noises and it didnt.. after i took off my tires n jacked up the car and re tightened everything but it still makes the clanking noise.. has anybody else experienced this problem?!
the same thing happened to me, ur coilovers are bottoming out, that wat it did to me, so i just put the stock ones back on, that happened to me on the back ones tho, on my front it had a clanking noise, my friend told me its because the whole strut moves, but idk, try raising it a little, it might also be too low
Hee is right. I have a 2001 dropped low on Eibach sport springs. It has been nothing but uncomfortable, especially since I also had 18" chrome wheels on 35 profile tires. All I could do was get 45 profile tires and raise the springs all the way up. That helped alot, but you will never get the perfect ride you had with all the stock components. Of course, it looked absolutely retarded with all the stock components. Stay true my man.

are you sure that everything is tightened down? from what you said when you re-tightened everything, i got the impression that you tightened everything behind the wheel.. see if tightening the 3 nuts that hold the strut on or the one nut that holds the whole strut assembly helps at all. also, when you go in for an alignment (which i do whenever i have to remove the front struts for anything), tell them that you installed the springs yourself and tell them what kinda things are going on (i.e., the clanking noise). they should be able to tell you what's goin on with it, and some places may fix it for free, given its only a loose bolt or whatever.
when i first installed my tein s-tech springs, i had a clanking noise whenever i braked or accelerated.. the guy that did my alignment told me that it was the bolt that holds the strut to the rotor.. assembly.. thing... he told me they tightened it for me and it got rid of the clanking noise..

after driving my friends car, it feels like the civic is a pain in the *** to drive, and kind of harder. his car is raised and its a smooth ride and u dont have to slow down for speed bumps, its quite nice, but i think most of us get lowered for the looks, atleast me anyways
and the thing is, me and my friends are 16, and we installed it, and we had no previous experience, take it to a shop, i wouldnt mind spending the money for labor to get it right. mine turned out like **** lol

i installed my springs with one other friend helping me out.. i was 18, he was 16.. we both had absolutely no experience with suspension work..
now, i can swap out the struts/springs on my car (or another 7thgen for that matter) with little/no problems... learn from experience man..
but definitely get an alignment done and have them try and diagnose the problem.. if they wanna charge for it, **** 'em and go to someone else...
just FYI, i saved up money and ditched the tein s-techs (prolly a month after i put 'em on tokico blues
) for tein ss-p's... sooo much better
