KN airfilter?
KN airfilter?
Hey guys and girls, I have a question for you. Does anyone just use a K&N replacement air filter with the stock airbox? If you do then do you notice better gas mileage? Also since K&N's were made to flow more air that means that they probably filter out less dirt than paper filters, has anyone here that has used a K&N looked at their throttle body and found a build up of dirt? thanks.
There is no substitute

A lot of the filtering ability for K&Ns come from the oil used on the gauze filter material. A lot of smaller particles will get stuck on the oil than on a dry K&N filter.
I personally have not heard of anyone using a quality reusable air filter that has had such problems, if they follow the proper cleaning and oiling procedure.
If there were any major problems I'm positive we would know, since there are millions of them out there.

I custom built a pipe, directly off the original air filter, where resonator was, acting in a way like cai but without the filter at the end. *Less moisture, and still cooler air quicker. Call it what you want...not by definetion a short ram i am aware...

All he asked about was putting a K&N in the stock airbox.
