ok, so I was looking through some websites yesterday, and one popped up that had this intake filter with some sort of electric fan or something attached to it.
I think it said it put out 4psi or something to your engine. Seeing how 4-5psi is all Im looking to boost my car with right now,..I was thinking about getting it. It was pretty expensive for an intake with a fan attatched to it,..but it was cheaper than a turbo kit....my question is,...does anyone know anything about these?? if so-do tell,.....I dont remember price exactly,..or where i found it,...but just incase i find it again.

Waste of money, and an experiment in persuasive wording.
These "fans" were designed for marine engines, which have to suck air from a remote location relative to the engine position. They can move air, yes, but they are totally worthless when applied to a car's engine.
They cannot build boost, because they are FANS, not COMPRESSORS. Someone did some math at one point, and found that the fans produced about .125 PSI at the throttle body, but no more. A human can apply more pressure than that with a good hard blow.
So, in the end, worthless... not to mention the fact the little plastic blades like to break and wedge themselves in the throttle body, if not an intake valve.
edit- Sorry, I forgot to mention. At Full throttle, an engine typically requires more air than the fan can provide. So, you might get a little more throttle response from the higher velocity at low RPM, but the fan itself will be a bottleneck as soon as you hit the gas.

yeah pretty much you are an idiot if you buy these and all those rednecks with the minivans that swear by these are the same people who don't know what 1 part of an engine looks like.

the leaf blower and the fan do nothing but blow air. you will probably lose power because they will be more of a bottleneck to proper air flow than anything.
a COMPRESSOR is what compresses air to 4psi or 10psi or whatever BEFORE the intake charge actually goes into the engine.
if you ever try to hook up a fan or leaf blower or whatever to your intake, i hope you electrocute yourself in the process, that way we don't have to worry about you breeding stupid children.
dood, don't waste your money. that, like others have allready pointed out is complet bullshnockey. just get a good intake, and maybe a throtle body spacer. it would give you better fuel atomization than a stupid fan.
