future FI for my car
I'm either going with the comptech SC aftercooled kit, or possible going with a custom kit built specifically for the S2000.
The kit includes this:
GT30/71R(4psi of boost@5k rpm, dry revving)
exhaust manifold
LoveFab Mini-me
3" downpipe
22X9X3 FMIC, 2.5" AL piping
TiAL 44mm, 50mm WG/BOV
RC 750cc injectors
AEM EMS engine management
.63AR exhaust housing, .70 Compressor housing.
oil feed/return lines(all fittings);
coolant feed/return lines(all fittings);
air intake/filter;
oil catch can, lines;
guage package
boost controller
Off 8psi of boost this is the dyno on a mustang dyno (on a dynojet, this would equate to about 350whp and 240wheel torque)

Here is a 3rd gear dyno run, right click save as:

Here are pics of the kit installed.
Thoughts?

The comptech and vortech kits are comparable to each other.
obviously a custom turbo kit would be able to blow either of the SC kits out of the water though.

mustang dynos are more accurate based on real driving situations and is based off actual wieght were as dyno jets base everything off a 2000 lbs for everyone, last i heard.
otherwise that is one tough decision, IMO

i used to have a mustang dyno. it is a constant 15-25 whp low. It is EXTREMELY useful for tuning. It is a load and hold dyno.
The dynojet is an accellerometer type dyno. Good for tuning, but is THE standard when it comes to numbers. Probably the most accurate chassis dynomometer available

Superchargers are the sh*t for the street though. I dont know why some people dont care for that strong flat torque curve starting in the low rpm range. I can see that type of performance gain being a lot of fun especially in a daily driver. The vortech kit for the S2K indeed did get a good review didnt it? Oh BTW, I'm curious S2000man, do you know if swapping those pistons out are a must when it comes to turboing an S2K? They run some awefully high compression numbers dont they?

11.1:1 compression for s2000
rsx type-s is 11:1 compression
and the s2000 engine is no doubt built better than any other honda engine. so i think a couple pounds of boost, maybe 10 on track day, is fine.

also, you're confusing linear power vs flat torque curve. you can get a flatter torque curve with a turbo and engine management than you can with an SC. an SC simply makes X amount more power the entire rpm range (roughly).
in fact, compare a dyno of a comptech SC'd S2000 and look at the dyno i posted at the beginning of this thread. notice how the torque curve hits about 200lb/ft torque at around 2500rpms and stays so flat you could dance on it, all the way to redline.
