What do they do to certify a car???

Hey guys

I am at the end of my lease and I plan on buying out my car. I need to get the car certified and I was just wodnering what do they actually need to do to the car before it is certified?

Hope it doesnt dent my pocket too much.

I think they just check the car more thoroughly and inspect the hell out of it. Replace parts, supposedly its a more reliable used car.

Basically, they check your car out... make sure its in decent shape and give you warrenty on it. If the car has a lower milege (around 40K) and everything is in decent shape it'll be a certified used car which adds some value to it. But for all I know it could be BS to get more money for the car just by slapping a sticker on it.

ooh thanx, so question is should I get this done at the dealer or some other place like active green and ross.

dealer dealer dealer, find a good reliable dependable dealer by talking to customers from their or people in the area (other dealers or shops).
they have a big checklist to go through inspecting the driveability and whatnot, they go through drivetrain suspension everything, the biggest problem is that many people will skip thing that they wouldnt expect to be wrong on a certain year car with "x" amount of miles
