muffler swap

I have a thermal cat-back system on my car now, but I was wanting something louder around 90dbs but with a option of a silencer. What I want to do is saw off the muffler part of my thermal exhaust and put a different muffler on, will I be able to tell a big differance with just a muffler swap, plus what kind should i get.
I don't want nothing real bulky maybe a oval or round style muffler. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

thermal catback, dcsport 4-1 header, injen sri, aem pulleys, nitrous express 50 shot, sportline springs,20%window tint...

i think you could get by with another muffler. just get a canister-type exhaust that has the silencer option. i have the apex'i N1 with the silencer and i love it. good luck!
