My first accident

so a little while ago i ran into the back of an Infiniti QX4. i totally smashed up my hood, front bumper, and bent the frame. Now my hood sits about 2" above where it should be. I also broke the mountings on my projectors so i guess it's back to the stock headlights. I know I'm getting a Xenon Body kit, but does anyone have any suggestions on what type of hood i should get. let me know

I'd get a CF hood if you can afford it. Not the kaminari kit one though....too crazy for my taste. Just something clean and tastefull, but still different.

Gotta agree with Damian, the hoods kinda do look too showy. But...

On the other hand, the hood does look okay, if you don't mind the 'showy-ness' of it.
Love the kit though.

speedracer32 i'm sorry to hear about your car. I was lucky i didn't mess up the radiator. i think it's bent a litle bit but the hood doesn't open so i won't know til it goes to the shop tommarow to begin work on her.
What do you guys think of the APC carbon fiber hood w/ the vent? one of my friends suggested that want and i want you're opinion.
thanks

APC is new on the scene with their CF hoods I think. Kaminari quality is really nice. Other nice hoods as BodyKit NW CF hoods, but those are expensive. There's another maufacturer that's pretty good and not too expensive... Oh yeah, JHP, http://www.jdmhondaparts.com They make good quality CF hoods for less. The Sunny Stylin' hoods are kinda unique too since they're the lightest around, some say they're flimsy though.

Already thinking about what hood to get? Wheww! Maybe you should get it settled first with the insurance company, find out who's at fault, looks like you, and see how much you rate will increase before thinking about modding. And yes, back to the old skool headlights.

i got into my first accident around May of 2001....... it wasn't so bad but my frame is still a little bent from the accident.....
I will get that fix when i get my new bodykit. Don't worry CivicGirl........ if the accident wasn't ur fault than you will get full price for the damage
caused and you can get cheap aftermarket parts

My friend got two checks for 1300 from his accident and it only cost 850 to fix his car.

He got

Black widow full body
projectors
new intake
new mirrors
including labor to install it all too

you have the right to choose who fixes your car, not the insurance company. its not insurance fraud if you get it done cheaper than the quote. if i was in an accident i would get a quote from an expensive place like the dealer for parts, and a top quality body shop for repairs, then get it done cheaper or use aftermarket parts, do what i could myself, etc. the quote would be perfectly legal as long as it was their real price for the work that needed to be done.
