Ford Focus wins best car
I was fliping through the Feb 2002 issue of Automobile magizine and I lost all confidence in them when I saw in there in their 2002 allstars article that the Ford Focus won best small car and the SVT Focus won best coupe what the hell are they smoking focuses suck big time

Rep Power: 412 My sister hates hers. It has had so many problems and recalls. And she paid over 17,600 for hers and it is four, door auto. I don't see how they are cheaper. Once you add on all the extras Ford charges you for, the civic is the better deal, thats if you can get a good price for it.

That is inaccurate. Most of the time, "American" Magazines declare the Japanese cars winners in their comparison stories. Look at a certain magazine's 10 BEST list. The Honda Accord has been there for, like,
15 years...Camry, etc...

This is not really feasible. That's what reader surveys are for.
WHAT IF:
They happened to get an ideal, problem free Focus and a relatively problematic Civic for their 1 year test??
I'm sure the results would not be what www.2k1civic.com members consider an accurate depiction of our cars. This is why magazines can only compare new cars. This way, only performance, features, comfort, and price are compared to one another. Most magazines routinely conduct "Long Term Tests" that more accurately illustrate the costs of owning a car for a particular amount of time/miles.
Don't get me wrong, I love my 2k1 Civic EX; I chose it over the Focus mainly for its better fuel mileage.
When comparison shopping, the Focus was a very attractive alternative.

however, to tell u da truth.... dat whole trim level package for the focus is cheaper than the base EX sedan (coupes are cheaper), who got no shet at all, except moonroof. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG]
so if u were a buyer and not a fan of nobody..... who would u buy for ur money? think about it!
if yall noticed, when a focus is parked beside our cars, our civics look smaller exterior wise bcoz focus got this low profile body unlike the civic.... but i know interior wise we have more room and comfortable... not to mention the infamous honda's interior design comparisons against the piece of shet focus.
EQUIPPED focus looks good, and cheaper........ CIVICS looks good and expensive.
PACKAGE STOCK= focus
MONEY WISE= focus
LOOKS= civic
LATTER VALUE= civic
RELIABILITY= civic
the list can go on, but as of now those are the only strong points i find in a focus......

Rep Power: 0 It makes me angry that car magazines don't ever really factor in reliability. I know that it isn't possible to know a brand new car's reliability, but when the ratings are done, other cars from that manufacturer should be analyzed and factored in. The fact that American cars can even be on any list baffles my mind. Yeah they're cheaper, sometimes look better, and go faster, but they fall apart @ 60K if you are lucky. Why would anyone want to make an investment of 25K into something that falls apart. Reliabilty should be the number one factor in car ratings because it is the most important, unless you lease maybe.

Some of the posts on this topic make it seem as though some of you have been brainwashed into believing that U.S. automobiles are vastly inferior. Japanese build quality is second to none, but American cars are NOWHERE near as bad as some of you believe, or would like others to believe, and much better than you might think.
