Gonna learn how to drive a standard
Re: Gonna learn how to drive a standard
I don't know of any driving schools in Scarborough, but I guess it's because I've never been there. What I can help you with is, look at the date at the top of each post to keep you from bumping a thread that is less than a week from being six years old. Hope it helps.
Re: Gonna learn how to drive a standard

Re: Gonna learn how to drive a standard
my best note of advice is what i tell people who I've taught in my own car: learn to balance certain RPMS using the gas pedal. People that have driven automatics all their lives aren't used to momentarily balancing the gas pedal before letting off the clutch.
Before I've taught anyone in my car I have made them balance the gas pedal to 3,000rpm for 10 seconds then let off the accelerator. I make them repeat it until they seem to have it down pat.
Also, the clutch is the saving grace. When in doubt, always depress the clutch.

Re: Gonna learn how to drive a standard
I have a friend who is a sales manager at a honda dealership and I learned by letting him allow me to test drive a used civic. So we took that beesh out and f-ed that clutch then went and bought a different one lol. I love my 5 speed though i will never drive anything but a manual.

Re: Gonna learn how to drive a standard
dont give it enough gas and let the clutch out too far, you need to rev the motor up than disengage the clutch slowly until the car starts moving
