Fake Engine Vents???

Hey guys i have no clue about this one, but whats with the new fad about people putting these fake vents on their cars?!?!??

I personally think they are tacky as crap, and some people dont even take the time to line them up straight!! where did this crappy fad originate from?

originated i think from BMW ('Z3 style fenders')...although I don't know if they're functional even on the Z3...

the 99-00 era Subaru Imprezas have similar vents on the hood, but if they get a SRI, at least one of them can be made functional...somewhat...

yea i know! just today i saw some on the newer monte carlo, a 300, and even a freaking neon!! i was like whats the big deal with these stupid stick on vents..

i believe autozone is partly to blame (as well as other major chain auto parts stores) they were one of the first to start selling the stick on vents on a large scale. stores like that are ofter to blame for the spread of these fads. they even have a whole isle for crap like this. the led shift *****, windshield wiper lights, NOS floor mats, and now the stick on fender vents

OH...

as an add-on to my previous post...I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE STICK-ON!!!

i thought the ones from the factory came with holes in the fenders too!

I am guilty for liking those z3 fenders. I know someone that had them on his Honda and I liked them then. Don't think they would look right on my civic though.
