Dealership knows nothing..

People know I did a swap from 04 to my 01 EL headlight, and it's fitted quite nicely. However, before I ordered it I did email the part manager, and here is what he replied.

Hello Dennis,

Unfortunately the Model Year 04 headlight assembly will not fit into your
car at all. The differences between the original unit used in 2001 and the
current generation are too great for there to be any chance of retrofitting
it without extensive re-working of the front end of the vehicle. The work
required is completely undocumented and would be prohibitively expensive.

I'm sorry we could not help you in this matter, but should you require any
additional information on this or any other question please do not hesitate
to contact me.

Thank you for this chance to serve you,

Parts Manager

SO....I think I trust you guyz opinions more than the dealer in the future..

What a stupid parts manager. I bet you he was thinking about Civic headlights ('04-'05s are different from previous 7th Gens I believe). Must look nice though, bring on the pics man!

Bwahahahahahaa.....OK which dealership is this? Best post it so people don't go there for service. If the guy can't tell that the headlights are compatible, what the hell else could he know about the rest of your car?

LOL, well I guess they only go by what the computer tells them and never actually thought to take a look at a set of 01-03 headlights alongside a set of 04+ headlights. Not really all that surprising.
