Hey Guys,

Considering putting royal purple oil in my manual transmission. Anyone else done this? Any comments? thoughts? opinions?

My car only have about 2000 miles, so I am going to wait until about 10k miles to do this, let it break in a little....

thanks

i dont think tranny fluid makes that much of a difference in sticks, but a heavier weight will make it much harder to shift when cold

You don't need to change your tranny fluid til about 20-30k miles.. just save your money for something more..worth it?

Actually it is every 60k you change the tranny fluid and putting engine oil in there is only recommended as a temporary fix for low fluid levels.

ahh yes apparently they do. I haven't been paying much attention to anything for a while, all I ever heard of was their engine oil.

yeah they make gear oil for manual transmissions. I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with it. A friend of mine claims putting RP in his engine and transmission got him 2-4 mpg higher efficiency with his truck.
