you guys got it for a good price than...i drove off with nothing on my car...not even a floor mat....and it had 100 miles on it....i wish i was aware of this forum before i went out and buy it.......maybe i could have at least got floor mat.....and to spend a extra 100 buck for them...
I got an EX Sedan with a few extras added on for $18,600. kind of steep, but I didn't have any bargaining power since my only downpayment was a $500 trade-in for my old car. the next car I buy in a few years will be a better experience.
$15,535 with mats (15,465 w/o mats) + tax for EX coupe 5-sp.
You guys should list the price without the tax because some pay 5% and others 8.5% tax in their respective town/city or county. Also don't include dealer fees or DMV fees. Those should not be part of the car price. Again I only paid an additional $20 dealer fee + $44 for registratoin and plates. Others pay $200 or more for that stuff, so I think it's fair we just list the price we negotiated on the car itself, otherwise it gets confusing..

If you paid DEALER FEES or DEALER PREP, you should list this in the price of the car.
TAX & TAG fees should be the only things added to the price of the car.
DEALER FEES are just extra profit for the dealer. Ignore whatever is printed in that little box where it says DEALER FEES. Part of the price of your car includes whatever "prep" the dealer does to get the car ready for sale. In South Florida, dealers usually tack on $400-$500 in "DEALER FEES." DESTINATION CHARGE is also included in the sticker price of the car, and should not be added later.
Do not pay this fee, or exclude it when quoting your sale price to others. As far as I'm concerned, this is just part of the price for the car. When I purchased my 2k1 Sedan, the saleslady said that the dealer fee couldn't be removed from the sales contract, so she subtracted the price of the dealer fees from the purchase price.
My car is a 2001 Civic EX Sedan with Auto trans. w/o side airbags
MSRP was $18,150. Invoice was $16,449 (approximately)
I negotiated a purchase price of $16,500 + tax/tag (no additional dealer fees).
When I arrived at the dealer, the invoice had a dealer fee of $450 preprinted on it.
So I had her subtract the $450 and write $16,050 as the sale price.
Once the $450 dealer fee was added, we arrived at the $16,500 negotiated price.
In any case, I think you got a pretty fair deal oatmeal.
Don't worry about it. People are paying full MSRP and MORE(!) for Honda Odysseys, so just enjoy your Civic!

I paid 14.800 for my car. I don't mind it. The invoice was 14070. It had nothing on it. I bought the floor matts, body color side moldings and tinted it all within a week. It looks nice now. I guess I paid the "Dealer Fees" or whatever. I checked at Edmunds and the TMV or total market value of my car was 14722. I guess I didn't get a great deal, but I didn't get ripped off either.
Did anyone get a factory rebate or something? I'm wondering how some peeps got theirs for a price below invoice.
