winter is in the air, and on the ground

so i live in buffalo NY, and if any of you have watched the weather channel recently you would see what kind of mess mother nature has given us. in buffalo we get lake effect snow, which is so much worse than the snow the rest of the country, its more icy and packs harder and just causes all kinds of hell for drivers w/o 4wd. we now have 2 feet of snow on the ground and this time saturday we didnt have ANY. we got 25.2 inches in the past 36 hours. slickwillie can vouch for this nastiness. but the stock firestones really dont seem that bad to me. maybe its just the way that i drive, or maybe im used to driving in such poor conditions, but i was already to go out and buy a set of blizzaks (tirerack.com has them for $62 a piece) but i just put $10 worth of sand bags in the trunk (about 150 lbs) and the added weight really helps. its not gonna do wonders for my gas mileage, but its better than hitting another car or something. just my thoughts on the stock firestones.
