WTF is with this?
i was checkin out the porsche webpage and i happened to stumble upon the 911 turbo and was checkin out the stats and such. i then decided to look at the colors when i noticed something. porsche offers an option to have a different color hood then the car, and i was like 'what the ****'? at first i thought it might be factory CF hoods and that might be cool, so i decided to check it out. when i clicked the link i saw it was just normal colors. WTF mate? who the hell would pay to ahve their hood a different color then their car on a frickin Porsche? i dont get this. anyone ever see any pictures of a 911 turbo with this?

actually, i think its so that if you have a light color car you dont have the glare from the sun hitting the light color hood. so if youre using the car to race you can paint the hood a dark color (since only dark colors are available) and avoid that problem. im not sure what its made of now, but the hood might already be lightweight...like fiberglass or something, so making it carbon fiber wont really do much, its just for look. and not everyone likes that look.
so, it might not be an aesthetic thing, but a purely functional thing.

to be different? i would say their the first car manufactuer to offer this kind of equipment. but ****, as long it sells, they did their thing. let the rich folks pay extra for colored hoods.

they aren't talking about the trunk people the front of that porsche is the truck, the rear where the louvres are is the engine hood, that is what you can order in different colors, and it's probably just the grill look at the back view of the car Duh:
