What would you do in this situation?
You've got about $6000 and a 2003 Civic EX coupe with 36,000 miles on it...just out of warranty and owe $8000. Do you keep it and turbo it, keep it and swap it, or trade it and get a 2005 MGT????? It will be my dilema in a few months.
I haven't done turbo yet, but if you really like the car, I would turbo. I know its slow, but i love my 7th gen, and with that cash you could have a really nice set up. I'm sure a billion other members will undoubtedly say " get a k20" , but in the end its up to you, so basically, I'm no help.
I sure wish my car was newer

Well, if the "2005 MGT" you're talking about is the 05 Mustang GT, that'd be my choice, but I'd wait a while longer than you're talking about. The first year models are bound to have a few bugs, as any first year cars do. Of course you're gonna have some riceboys on here that says "Rustangs r teh suck!" but I wouldn't listen to them. The '05 Mustang is one of the hottest cars out there right now.
To be perfectly honest, I'd go for a 350Z, but I honestly don't know the price difference.

personally i would use a good portion of it to lower the balance owed and leave the extra for some small mods

Well, take a test drive in the Mustang. Keep it stock or you can rock a modified Civic.
Personally, I'd go either way, leaning slightly towards the Civic just because they're great cars. If you're going to mod it too, it'd be even better.

pay it off and enjoy all that extra cash you have every month. Then if you still feel like it, trade it in and get whatever you like.
if i were you i would go swap since no warranty and a good swap is about that amount with labor
yes the mustang gt is really nice but since you still owe money on the car is not worth it
edit: you can do this!!!
1 trade in ur vic... for a 03 in good condition arround 10k (this will pay off your 8k credit and you will have 2k left in you pocket for the down payment of the next car)
2 add the 6k that you have and then you have 8k for down towards ur new mgt
warning: first shop arround test drive everysingle car u can think of for the price that the mgt goes you can have a good deal here but not let youself be guided by emotions and just go ahead and buy the car the first day u go shopping) make sure that is the car that you really want
second, the dealer that you choose to buy the car from in this case ford is the one you should take the car for an appraisal
(i told the sales person that ive gone to car max and carmax was giving me 12k for mine.. it was a lie but most dealers base their estimates on what car max says)
third make sure you go at night for the aprisal because at night minor dents and imperfactions are harder to see and make sure you was your car and put it real nice.
giving 8k for a mustang gt you are talking montly payments of about 310 with exellent credit
believe me my dad trades his car like changin underwear he is the master at this and ive learned from him a lot
let me know if u need more help or have more questions
